Anybody have a panel truck for a Harley hauler??

I have a softail Deluxe (dressed out like a Heritage) and would love to have a big panel truck that I could haul it with when needed??

I am wondering what old panels would be big enough??

I'd love to see some pics if anyone has them!

    Thanks!

we did a 36 ford delivery , it was called "harley hauler" by coincidence.

bikes didnt fit in it though, they had to be trailered. gonna need a tall rear door to get a bike to roll in

I have a '54 Ford panel. If you give me a measurement of the highest point of the bike I will see if it will fit.

I really don't think a bike should be hauled unless it's terminal, they're made to be ridden. Every year before Sturgis I'll see guys hauling dressers! WTF? They are touring bikes, but to each their own... This is getting a Dodge 1 ton cummins chassis next year and should be able to haul a few bikes. The rear doors are 6ft. tall...

why not buy a victory then you could ride the bike instead off hauling it?

I have a 1954 Chevy 1 ton Panel converted over to a littel bit softer suspension. I am sure that it would fit in there... I do happen to have a 1950 GMC panel that is for sale. Does not run, but would be priced reasonable.
Let me know I can get you Dimensions of the back of either one.

    cool pix!

Just for the record my bike is 2yrs old and has 13k miles on it...

But after taking it in for tire repair (rear flat)... and having to pick it up during a week when it was storming everynight... I thought a really cool hauler would beat the hell out of my girlfriends horse trailer! :)

What could be better than one toy hauling another??

I actually rode a victory before buying a Harley...
I thought maybe people just bought the Harley for the name...

After riding the cheap feeling Victory I went back and bought the DELUXE...

To fit a full dresser in a panel truck its going to have to be a big one (1 ton+) I have a 57 GMC 1/2 ton Panel and have to fold down the mirror, remove the tailight and lean the bike over to fit a triumph (OIF and earlier) inside....

Mine are 1 ton units. I hauled a 4x4 500 Polaris 4 wheeler with a set of mounted Bucket seats in the back of my 54. I am pretty sure your bike will fit.
I will have to go to the Barn and measure, it will be a few days. sorry.

[IMG] Nice truck, I saw it at Oley a few years ago.

  20. If I were building a scooter hauler, I'd find an old bread truck or government box van and build it to suit. They are far easier to load bikes and such in, IMO, plus you can outfit the hell out of the inside and still have plenty of room for scoots and such...
