Mercury Marauder Project Updates

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mercuryjunky, Oct 29, 2009.

  1. Do you have the Canadian code breakdown? They are different than the US Codes. The engine code is not part of the VIN.

  2. That is a VERY rare car. If it has/had buckets and factory air it is one of about 100 made

Well I finally got one of them out of the snow. This is the P-code marauder.Eventually I'll restore this one back to stock.I'ts going to need a lot of work but it will be worth it.I have it listed in the super marauder web site.Kirk has been helping me try and find some production numbers but just havent found much info on them.So far another one has not surfaced.I put some 15x8s on the front and 15x10s on the back for that low nascar look.I'm just glad the snow has melted and I'm ripping up some asphalt again. This one I'll wait till I can focus on only this one.I will be working on its sister car this winter.Ill post some pics of that one next.

I'm pretty sure the Park Lane I saw had a bench, or split bench...if I recall, it had some frontend dents and rust on the headlight eyebrows and rocker panels...it was pretty complete, and those guys tend to sell whole cars pretty reasonably...no clue if it's still there, been a year or two since I was there last, but God knows it's next to impossible to get a vehicle out of that place, and nobody really takes parts off of the old cars they have in that yard...someone really does need to save that car though, it's pretty damned sexy for being a 4 door...

Ken, the P code look killer. I love the look with the fat wheels, and the poverty cap. Now hit the Power Ball, so you can buy that R code Merc, too!

I'll let you know if there is something I really need.I'll start the teardown this month and go from there .One thing is for certain the marauder sheet metal is a lot harder to come by than the galaxie stuff.

These cars sit at 19 feet for the 63 and 19.5 feet on the 64.You almost need a football field to park them.

Whats up Roy.I know you want this marauder fully loaded.Bucket seat interior, power windows, same color as your comet.Perfect for hauling it to the race track. You know you want this marauder.

My 63 Colony Park is also the super marauder 390.Four barrel carb and factory dual exhaust. In my model year they made 7,529 of them at a price of $3365.In your model year they made 4,234 if its the six passenger model or 5,624 if its the nine passenger model at a price of $3504 a piece.I'll have to research the breakdown of how many was ordered with the super marauder package.

    Ken,
Looks like you got the Merc Market cornered. Great pics, and I think Roy needs your Marauder, to pull the Comet to the races. That would be a classy combo!
