Hi, Was wondering if 39' Ford car Pedals fit 39' P/U ? My cab came minus them. Will be using ( modifing )the original frame. seems to be more car pedals available. Thanks, C300
Frames are the same, passenger and pickups. I have a rebuilt pedal set up with adapter and Mustang master. If you need one, PM me.
FYI. Bob Drake, http://www.bobdrake.com/, is reproducing these pedal assemblies now. I haven't seen them. Charlie Stephens
Great ! Thanks a bunch. When my used front end (and Brakes) gets here, I'll size it up and make a choice. I'm betting used, see how much room...
Charlie Stephens: thanks, I looked in Bob Drake's link and didn't/still do not see any petals. Will contact Him. 36tbird: sounds like your in buisness (outside San Antonio). I heard that 39' and 40' have different clutch linkage setups. is there a preferred setup for different tranys ? Thanks,C300
What transmisson are you running? The 39s are more desireable, but if youre running a newer trans, 4 or 5 spd and are going to need to modify the pedal, a set of 40s will work just fine.
Running a standard, I have a A-833, S/B Bell(Plymouth), a T5 S/B(chev.)and an old toploader ? no bell(ford). Got 2 addapters, 331 Hemi to ? Haven't had everything unpacked at the same time to fit-check. The 39' ford P/U is gonna be low, and running a Champ QC. I was hoping that one addapter was mopar since its the smallest, and have the most parts. T5 would be overkill, but lighter. Trying to get the main build parts together so I don't wait 2 weeks for some part once I get on a roll. Wish I had a pix of the 2 side by side, C300
The 39 pedal assemblies desireability hinges on the fact that it is a easy "bolt-in" to convert 35-38 Ford cars and pickups to hydraulic brakes without having to fab any clutch linkage since it works exactly like the 35-38 pedals do. The 40 pedal assembly will fit as well but the 40 uses the clutch release arm in the bellhousing which has the slot end and the equalizer cross bar mounts to the frame rail on a ball bracket with split bushings. That is the simple reason the 39 is "legend". Add the fact that it was used in only ONE year of cars/pickups and there you have the rarity.
