Any old pics of this thing?

  4. Normally its all about being bigger 'n' better. It was about that wasn't it?

Never the less now I know that when I had a late model Poncho I had a really late model Poncho.

  5. Hey guys, he tried to sell it complete for what he paid for it. No takers. Therefore no whining. He had to make his money back, so he parted it. His car, his choice. I can't see why he should lose money so the car is preserved. Back when Jim Jacobs was restoring the Niekamp roadster back to its former glory, flathead powered, as the 1st America's most beautiful roadster winner, Bill Niekamp couldn't believe Jim wouldn't update the car with a newer drivetrain, because that is what hot rodders used to do. Just some food for thought. Pat.

  6. Absolutely right. Its your car and if you wanted to take a sawzall to it and sell it an inch at a time you should be able to do so.

BTW I may have turned the post on your car into a ******* match, instead of a histirical search. Sorry about that. Wasn't my intention.

I do think you have handled yourself well on this one. With all the how much is it posts you have kept it clean and not turned it into an auction.

Now I would still like to know if anyone of these thousands of used car enthusiasts know anything at all about the car or a car that it may have been. Maybe an old pic of it back in the day or a little info on who it may have belonged to at one time.

I don't personally think it need to be restored to its former glory but it may be that it should be. Common fellas a little infor for a curious old codger.

I'm not sure anyone's making it out to be anything historically significant other than beeing a cool old coupe. It was just a simple "does anyone know anything about this car?". I always search before posting and didn't (couldn't) find a reference to this car. So I thought I'd post.

  9. It is a good post.
I don't think that the folks that actually followed things of Historical Significance post much any more. I'm not much of a historian I'm afraid. I remember things from where I was and when but my world isn't very big.

Even if it was a '70s car it is one that was very tastefully done. Hell I could almost become a Deuce guy with that one.

In 1985 My friend asked Me to pick up a car for him with My trailer. 69' GTO, think 428 car. Went in this barn, and he was parting out like 20-30 of them. We tryed to buy the original front clip, eng. ect... he new we didn't have top dollar so sold us the rust free body and said by by. He was in it for money. left a bad taste in my mouth since. Not saying this guy did this, but it makes car guys like me sick.
I can't remember how many Chevells we cut up in the name of circle track racing though....

  13. Being that the car is now in Australia, I think it will (should?) take a while to sell. I'd imagine the buy-in was probably high (including the freight costs) so the sell price price is going to be hard to justify when prospective sellers realise they're going to have to do a LOT of work to make it useable. I can see $2k in replacement panels straight away just to repair/replace the firewall, roadster quarters and lower decklid panel.
If an unmolested 32 roadster can't sell for $18k (locals will know the one) for a long time, then this thing will struggle to crack $20k.

    Wayne,

That 32 roadster was very poorly listed, as it looked as though it was a body, when in fact it was an almost complete car. Had I known what it was - hell i'd have sold everything to buy it.

No more from my end. That's why I posted it so we could see if we could find any shots someone might have.

I seem to recall when it was for sale on Epay, thought the whole car only got bid to 20k +/- Later, once it got parted out I think the body went very reasonably, around 10-11k. This was maybe a year or 2 ago. Surprised it didn't bring more then, cool car, nice hemi !

The history of the car continues. It will evolve again. This is hot rodding. The owner did what he had to do and more power to him. Better than letting it sit and rot somewhere. It donated its parts to other cars to create more history. The wheels keep turning. Just dont make it a right hand drive when it comes back! lol
