Do You Buy An Alliance Membership For The Discount Or For The Tag Or??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bigdaddy, Jul 7, 2009.

  1. I became a member because the H.A.M.B. has helped me grow up, i like the r things before this site. This site is about building quality, and thats what i want to build. The tag is like a badge of honour, i was so proud to have mine. Knowing what it supports, the knowledge and stories of the people related to it.

neither, I wanted to support this site. Lots of good info, friends and a place to have a lot of fun. Ryan has created a very cool site and it has been evolving since the beginning. How else you going to meet people like Denise, Malcolm, Greg from NZ. This brings people from around the world together like a big giant extended family.

If being an alliance member helps keep it going then I am all in.

I'm on here everyday, mostly reading up and absorbing knowledge. I own a pickup but I'm interested in lots of different 50's cars and finding this site was almost a religous moment for me cause I had no idea so many people dug traditional kustoms. The depth of knowledge here is insane, and the site is kind of spreading that knowledge so it can never die out. $50 for all that - no brainer! Plus you get a firewall tag and I bought some wide whites and smoothies from coker and saved like $120 for being a member so its payed for itself in the first month. Props to Ryan and all the alliance vendors as well.

HAMB saved me a **** ton of moolah through sound advise and stellar parts deals from other members. It is the least thing I can do!

Thanks Ryan- Hope this thread spurs more folks to consider an alliance membership.

    A little story....

Some friends and I were at Moab, checking it all out. We were talking to a Park Ranger about something, don't recall what...

One of my buddies reached down and picked up a rose stone, stuck it in his pocket.

The Ranger saw it and told him to put it back. My friend thought he was kidding. It's just a rock.

So the Ranger explained that MILLIONS of people visit that area every year and if every one of them took just one rock, the attraction would eventually disappear.

We all know there are plenty of people trying to take away from the HAMB.

I just do what I can to keep the attraction around.

P.S. Note my signature, it's been there for years....

i have yet to use my alliance membership for any discount, i do it for the support of an forum that have helped me alot for the past 8-9 years ive been here,
i would not be where i am hotrod and custom car wise if it wasnt for the hamb...
i have bought tons of parts via the hamb, learned to know alot of great people (even though i truly **** to keep in touch and answer mails/pm, and i am an sourjerk some times... ), havent been active so much past 1-2 years due to personal stuff.

any discount given could never match up what the hamb itself have given me..
i will of course use it if/when i need something an alliance vendor has something i need. but for me, i just want to support something that means alot to me.

I have used the discount, but it is more for supporting the site. I get so much more outta this site than any of the magazines I buy, so its well worth it to me.

Just how I feel. I have learned so much in the short time I have been here. I feel it is a small price to pay for knowledge.

Well..... For $50.00 a year, I think it is great. I know if I had a question and I was still FNG It would still be answered, because thats the way everyone is on here. They just want to share the knowledge they have about Hot Rods, and learn all they can also. You also get a 10% discount at alot of places. For me it is just to help out the site. If no one became an alliance member it would all be up to a handfull of friends supporting something we all love. The way I see it if you like something you will support it if you can. LONG STORY SHORT..... IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!;)
