I have a 32 roadster and i want to run a flattie.the one i have is a 47 with double groove pulley setups which stick out to far.i don't want to cut the fire wall and i don'tt want to run an electric fan.anyone know what setup i need?
Simple, you need the following parts, stock style 32 v8 front engine mounts (avail repro) change the lower pulley to a single 39-40 pulley, stock 37 to 39 fan to attach to a 37-9 generator or new fan mount wide belt pulley for GM one wire alternator and alternator bracket.
You can stll use the fan set-up. You'll need to make a idler pulley set-up and run the fan straight up. Takes a little figuring out, but makes sense once you have the parts in front of you. Still run the gen. offset one of the heads.
http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/Ford/1932/index.htm Shows how the front motor mount works V8. After all it is stock and all flathead 32-53 have the bolt holes in the block for this mount. I second **** Spadaro.
This one runs a 51 Merc Flatty with a Granco 3x2 with a Alt in front or it. Its tight but 1/8 inch or room to spare
