Hi everybody i'm Gunter and i live in Belgium,i'm 34 years old and my intrests are hot rods, customs, pinstriping, rockabilly and everything from the fifties. So that was a little from myself. So the car i got is a peugeot 201 coupe build in 1930 in France. The plans are flathead, quarter elliptical in the front,9" in the rear,channel,z-notch and a lot of other stuff as we go along the way. First pics are how i bought it,last pic was a couple of weeks ago,now she's totally undressed. Let me know what ya think. http://s993.photobucket.com/albums/af59/lil*******EU/
How does this Peugeot compare in size to say a Model A Ford ? Pretty much same size or say 4/5ths much like the English fords were in the 30s ?
The size is about the same as the model a only the front is a bit shorter and the roof a bit lower the car in the back is from my buddy its a 53 chevy 4 door, its gonna be a 2 door whit a topchop
yeah the frame is really strong its factory boxed so that saves a bit of work, and the material is thicker than an a-frame
thasts rad.. looks kinda like aaaaaa.... 28/29 A...3w...with chevy hood sides...and artillerys.. frames mean
Nice car, what is the black car in one of the photo's, a Matford ?? Groeten uit Holland / Greetings from Holland
Now this is interesting. That is something different and you can see that it will make a very cool hot rod. you seem to have alot of plans for it.keep us posted.would love to see where this ends up.
Let's say extremely hard there where a lot off them produced but deu to european weather the most of them have died thx for the nice reply's all
It looks good, but it all depends on the size of it. European cars are often a little too small when you see them in real life.
There was a Peugeot 201 PU at the French Nats this year, quite small cars, if anyone in Euroland has a copy of the uk mag Custom Car it's on Page 16. I'll see if i have any pics to post. Nice score Gunter, I like it . . .
God I love this international community!! So hip to see an early Puegot, had never seen anything like it. Thanx for sharin brother and good fortune on your build. Love it!! ~Sololobo~
To be honest ive never seen a Pug of that vintage but ive seen a few citroen of the 30s and to my surprise they are huge! Meaning as big as US fords. They wold make for terrific hot rods if they werent so damn expensive! The few you find are sold by the pound due to the collector and restorers market in which they strive. I wouldnt mind one to be honest, after all we are in europe and if we can find something we like here why the hell not!!!!! Keep us posted please!
i actually had a good deal on it,bought for 3,5 grand whit flathead engine and fully drivebale, the only thing that is really rotten is the wood inside.
