Guys and Gals, I just wanted to update you on the progress of my '36 Roadster rebuild. No it is not one of 3,228 roadsters built in '36, but we have done alot of metal work to make it look the part. Metal work wise we lengthed the coupe sail panel 7 inchs to correct lenght, put in a steel floor and trunk, filled all the holes in the firewall, added some kicker braces to the frame, built a beefier ****** crossmember, added bracing to the cowl and doors, moved the gas tankto the truck, made the truck latch, bear claw latches and functioning door handles. Installled a 3x2 on the 327 and detailed the motor, coated the torque tube headers. Then we did all the body work and painted it Rally Yellow by hot rod flatz. I just mounted the Hurst Pie Crust cheater to the freshly black powder coated rims........Thanks Eric Vaphead!! The last thing to do is aluminum door panels or tuck and roll upolstery.
A cool car & wide open Colorado country-side. I could ride around & enjoy that for months & months..... JH
I really like the rear quarter view of the car....it looks sharp. Have you considered putting a nice louvered hood on her? I think it would make the car look super sharp and add a touch of cl***. It's all you though man! and I'm sure you're gonna have a blast with her.
ps. You'll have to leave the air cleaners of course, and make a cutout for your stacks to stick out....maybe finish off the cut edge with some sort of custom aluminumy trim ring rivety job though! haha again...my opinion
I normally think those cars deserve fenders, but you seemed to have pulled it off. I like it and I'm sure you'll enjoy the drives in it. I can't wait to see the interior.
Here is what it looked like when I got 5 years ago.......Yep, pretty much a death trap, no front brakes, doors held shut with c-clamps, very ****ty work.
