dont ever cut anything untill you have the new part ,, you dont know where they cut it !!!!!!( paint and body 40+years ) been there !!!!done that !!!
I think its finished,, at least for now! Its not that hard to do this, just takes time and effort. Cant be afraid to **** something up or your never gonna learn!!
The stainless is embedded in the rubber, you cannot remove it without taking out the gl*** and there's no way the rubber will survive and it's damn expensive to replace.
the 48' anglia hasen't got much of a roof anyway(big hole)but we cut it out and put in a roof from a 89'4-door acura.now it has an electric sun roof.works fine
I'll go check to see if the Buick roof I have it a hardtop or post car. Using it to cover a Model A ch***is in the back yard for a few years now.
just an update - last weekend i was able to spend some hours on some of the roof : actually i was pleased with the progress thus far thanx to everyone who "encouraged the BIG BANG Theory" more work is still required - but it is rewarding thanx

I'd use a shrinking disk,, much easier to control compared to a torch, not sure how it compares to a shrinking hammer, I've never used one.
I dunno, I've never used a shrinking disc, just the hammer. Have a shrinking dolly too. Suppose I will have to try a disc one of these days.
