[IMG]Complete set of Mattel guns with accessories that fired "greenie stickum caps" and plastic bullet projectiles. Can you imagine the PC and safety police allowing those on the market today?

Either my 1989 Hawk Claw Powell Peralta Skateboard with 62.5mm slimeballs and clear griptape or my Drumset both given to me by my Father.

Carwise, I think it has been all the back issues besides the first few of The Rodder's Journal.

Worst Christmas Day ever for me was in 2000 when my mother had open heart surgery and the doc told my family she would never come off the ventilator.

Best Christmas Day ever for me was in 2000 when she proved the doctors wrong.

There was all the other stuff for 6 boys but that track was the biggest box under the tree and played with all year.
Now, its bubble wrap and be glad ya got that.

In 1970 my parents bought me a rough looking 1947 Studebaker M-5 for $25.00, I was still a few years away from getting my licence. The coolest Christmas present a kid could ever get!

When I was 12 I was and still am heavily into O Gauge Lionel Trains. I wanted a postwar 2056 small Hudson steam engine so bad I could smell the smoke form the stack. Luckily I had a father that was nuts enough about trains as I was. On Christmas morning there it was under the tree. The best part it came with about 8 other boxcars gondolas hoppers and a caboose I really wanted.

My best gift by far was x-mas 1982 when I got a Diamond Back bmx bike. All red anodized parts, red Skyway mags, the whole deal. Man what a feeling coming down the stairs and seeing that thing sitting next to the tree!! Thanks mom and dad!!

  13. it's a toss up, one year in the mid 70's I got 50 HotWheels all rapped individually. Or, another year in the mid 70's I got a GreenMachine. I wanted that GreenMachine so bad it was killing me. I still have the HotWheels and many more. For those that don't remember, the GreenMachine was a riding toy like a Big Wheel, but , It had two steering levers that turned the rear axle.

My best present as a kid was a remote control car. It was one of those kits you have to put together like a model car. I learned stuff workin on it that carried over to full size cars (ie, toe-in, caster).
My best present as a adult probably was my 12" miter saw that I used to build my 28x28 garage the following spring....now thats a gift that keeps giving.

That's what made it so memorable. Long story-short, my brother had tons of killer stuff under the tree that year, and I got ****... a new suit, socks, underwear... and I was pissed! I started pouting and feeling sorry for myself, so my dad got mad at me and told me to go put my new clothes in my closet. When I eventually, begrudgingly, went to my bedroom closet, the Z50 was there to surprise me. They set me up pretty good!

My 150 piece Craftsman tool kit in a plastic box for my 10th (I think) Christmas...

Tied with my 1950's .22 lever action Winchester when I was about 12 or 13 I think...

The Craftsman tools I still find every once in a while, but most are lost unfortunately... the .22 is sitting polished up on my mantle!

I love that rifle. I've shot THOUSANDS of rounds through it...

Christmas '51 (10 yrs old) ,Mom & Dad bought me an Erector Set..the deluxe set with the little steel wheels and the electric motor that had the finger-pinching gearbox attached ... made hundreds ,if not thousands of projects with that kit.. Dad probably influenced the decision to buy it..It gave me a basic knowledge of building things... I owe him so much for that.
Later on ,Christmas '53 (12 y/o),he bought me a set of Craftsman box-end & open -end wrenches with a red pent-roof tool box...still have the box and most of the wrenches.. I immediately took the family lawnmower engine apart ,just to see how it worked...Been taking things apart & putting them back together ever since...

    Thanks Dad...and Mom too
You gave me a lifetime of enjoyment beginning with those Christmas gifts

I also collect antique toys. A few years back my mother gave me 2 late 50s Tonka trucks that were in a box under the house. I'm the oldest of 5 kids so they are pretty beat up, one is missing the roof.I don't remember if they were mine or one of my brothers but I'll never turn them loose. Two years ago we finally built my home shop & my wife gave me a cherry picker for Xmas, I still had to put it together, HaHA some things never change. Four years ago she gave me a Marx Amos& Andy Fresh Air Taxi that was dead mint. I had bid it off on Ebay, but the reserve was higher. She contacted the seller & bought it for me. Ha Ha again, back in the 70s one Xmas she gave me a pair of boots, a new overcoat, and a suitcase. Shortly after that I sold my race car.
