I have a 1953 chevy coupe that has a rotted out frame. not salvageable at all. was wandering if anyone knew if there were any full frame swaps to do under my 53 body that would work great without to much work. any info will help. been researching for awhile and haven't found anything out. Thanks
oh yeah, there is a frame that is an excellent swap just use another 53 chevy frame there are common and cheap and nothing else fits so well
How about another '53/'54 frame. At least you'll know everything will bolt up where it's supposed to.
already tried that. thats the first thing i did but no one has any around where i am and im not going to pay for shipping and all that if i can go to accouple junk yards that i can get free frames but they are 80's to 90's.
Here's two of them (2 dr hardtop) in Texas, 6 hours left on the auctions... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...901QQitemZ110456682753QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks
they are probably wanting 1000 for each. if anyone knows any 80's to 90's frames that would work is what i am wanting to know. thanks

Here is a couple more in Austin: http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/1471948495.html Or if you feel real adventurous, I have a mid 80's S10 frame I probably wont use i could sell ya, check out the S10 thread and see if it will work
thats really what i wanna know about. if the s10 full frame will work. if it has to be ex-tended cab single cause of the measurements.
How does a '53 Chevy frame rot to junk in Texas anyhow? You should be able to go out in your back yard, pick up a rock, throw it in any random direction, and come up with a 53-54 Chevy of some sort. No S10 frame fits "easy" in fact no other frame fits "easy" and most late frames kick out at the cowl for the perimeter frame rails which makes building mounts for an older car a pain in the ass.
