Carb stamping number

    I have a 1 bbl carb with a stamping number 7004522. I was woundering if it was for my 261 Chevy. Any help will be greatful.

    is that the casting number of the throttle body? or is it the actual carb number, stamped on the metal tag held on by one of the air horn screws?

    looks like this? the number is cast, not stamped.

    that's for a newer engine, but it would probably work on yours.

    Looks like a different number than mine. Thanks for the help. My carb that is on the 261 came off my 235. The 261 is night and day over the 235 !!!!
