Saw a preview for this the other day and thought I'd share with ya'll. Looks like it's going to be pretty good. Let's hope anyway. Glad to see that Shooter Jenning`s is going to play Waylon. Shooter is good, he must have watched his dad play quite abit while he was around, looks alot like him too! I hope they dont make-up abunch of **** just to add drama, they need to tell it like it was, if they do that, it should be a good movie.
Johny Cash spent his early years on a farm between Jonesboro and Memphis. They did some of the filming here. My friend Buster Robinson's old blue Chevy truck was used in the background of several scenes.
I met Reese Withers**** in LA last July while she was getting ready for her part as June -she seemed really excited about the role. She said Joaquin was doing a great job as Johnny.
At the begining theirs a maroon 36 roadster runing through the cotton fields. My dads shop restored it for the man who owns it. Kirby

- Joaquin Phoenix will portray recently departed music icon Johnny Cash in writer/director James Mangold's planned biopic Walk the Line. Now according to The World Entertainment News Network, producer Cathy Konrad says there's even the possibility that Phoenix will go the way of Sissy Spacek in Coal Miner's Daughter, Val Kilmer in The Doors and David Keith in Heartbreak Hotel and perform his own singing vocals for the film. Konrad advised the site that Phoenix "sounds great" as The Man in Black, which would be an amazing accomplishment indeed considering how unlike their voices are. It's not a done deal, however, and a decision will be made soon whether to use Cash's original recordings for the film or Phoenix's vocals. Walk the Line was given the blessing of both Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash, who also died earlier this year and will be played by Reese Withers**** in the movie. Robert patrick will play john's dad, guess we will see ,i hope they dont make 400 movies like elvis or the horrible great balls of fire, about jerry lee,,the tv movies about hank williams jr. were hard enough to handle, john boy
I'm right in the middle of "Cash: The Autobiography" and if you haven't read it, you really NEED to. It is fantastic. The best book I've ever read. What an amazing human being he was.
They shouldn't have to add any drama to J.C.'s life story to make it sell. I always liked Johnny. I remember as a kid, setting in my dad's 62 Chevy on summer nights listening to Ring of Fire and I walk the line on top 40. I also remember his TV show and the very first time I saw Linda Ronstad (sp?) She came on bare footed.
Holy **** Steve I aint heard from you for months! You been in jail, hows life? I love that book, I've read it 3 times since I've owned it, it seems more honest than "Man In Black" did. -Jesse
Deyo: I read that, and I agree. I got hooked on Johnny after that book. I really wish I could have seen him in concert, in person. I've been buying CD's, DVDs, and books of him ever since...it's becoming a disease... For those who like Johnny Cash but don't know, there is a really cool book out, "CASH: An American Man" that is FULL of pictures of mementos acquired by a close family friend. I don't want to spoil it, but it even has pictures of cashed checks that Johnny wrote. It's a very interresting read. Also check out "CASH" by Rolling Stone. Many accounts from people who have stories to tell about Johnny Cash... There is also a new Biography on Cash out, I'm waiting for Christmas to maybe get the hardcover...don't recall the ***le. I can't wait for the movie, but I feel like I might be dis-appointed.
