Something car related to do every weekend. During the summer the rest of the country has events to go to!

yeah,we're budjeting rite now for our trip..looks to be like we're gonna be visiting either in jan. or feb. and moving over the summer...yeah,i KNOW it'll be hot and i got NO AC in the chevy AND she's a black car..great,eh?oh well..my main concern is getting a little familiar with the area and making some friends and MAYBE find some work.i'm not picky and i'll take almost anything as long as it's car related and puts food on the table.and nope,i'm not too proud to sweep floors or too lazy to be the go-for boy.but,at any rate,i'm just lookin forward to gettin out and hopefully doin somethin.seems like this'll be fun!...anyone out there need a go-for? [IMG]ok,enough whoring myself out before the HAMB wolves get me..!not askin for a hand out, just curious if anyone can give me a heads up on where i should look and where to make friends..i'm not expectin to be the head of any company my 1st day in town [IMG]

I moved out here from PA. 12 years ago. First word of advice I can give you is DRINK A TON OF WATER in the summer time. I have had kidney stones 2 times since I moved out here. Doc says,,Not enough water..too much milk. Custom car scene rocks. Lot of great shops and great people. Riding bikes is great except ya gotta dodge the gray hairs looking for their geritol fix.
Best of luck with the move.

I just made the same move (but from NJ) in July.
We did our 'scouting' missions in Feb and April. Funny how different the weather was when we moved here in JULY! [IMG]

Yeah, it's hot. But 'it's a dry heat'.

I love it here, I've met a ton of cool people (and even *3* AZ natives), and the car scene is awesome. I'm new-ish to rods, but I've been kicking around the VW world for about 15+ years. I can't compare the scene to my NJ scene at all.

    Hey, you're right! I'm a nobody and I'm a native!

Beware, come out and you may end up financing Colangelo's next stadium with your tax dollars.....
