Has anybody had any dealings with Hot Rod Air? A buddy of mine ordered some stuff 3 weeks ago and hasnt got his stuff. His credit card was charged and when he calls the guy gives excuses. Called back today and the phone number has been disconnected. He called Walker to see if the radiator had even been ordered and Walker said no. Anybody else using them and having problems? Just curious. Thanks!

I've had no dealings with them, but from what you're saying, I would hurry up and dispute the charges with the credit card company.

I had a similar experience with them. I ordered a part and 3 weeks later I kept getting excuses that it would be coming in "next week" from one of their vendors. The owner of the company is really a nice and honest guy but from all outward appearances the company is not doing that well in this economy. It could be he is relying on outside vendors who are not performing as expected. I personally went over to their office/production facility to find that from what I saw there was just him, his wife and one employee there. He has never had a lot of employees but this left me with a very uneasy feeling. I hope he is able to weather the storm. His product is excellent. My '47 Ford has had one of his units in it for 11 years with no problems and puts out 38 degrees at the louvers. He has always been available to answer any technical questions I have had.
    Peace,
    Chaz

We have put a bunch of Hot Rod air units in our cars and have never had any problems. I hope that they are doing well and will survive.

I've ordered three Vintage Air systems and have installed 2. No problems at all.

There is a HAMB Alliance dealer that offers a discount.

Like I said, when we talked to him he said the stuff was shipped. We called Walker to see if he ordered the radiator and Walker said no, that he was on a C.O.D basis. We wouldn't mind it so much if he would just credit our credit card but with his phone number being disconnected, we have no way to get ahold of him. Should have paid a little more and went with Vintage Air.

whats up with the remarks on Old air from texas???

I am installing one of their units in my 58 chevy p/u and everything is going as per their instructions, I have had a conflict with routing of the hoses, but that not their problem, as i cannot place my radiator back 1 inch due to clearance problems on my part....

let me know about the problem you had..

says the newb in Minnesota, come on down in August. Or how about you go without heat, oops sorry you probably don't drive your stuff year round.

I dislike them even more. They are outright liars. Their "model specific kits" aren't...

I guess it helps that I live within driving distance of their location and when I had an issue or question I went right to them and they made it right.

I have 4 vehicles with Old Air Products units and they all work very well, I only had a problem with only 1 of the units and their technical staff helped to find that it was a stuck TXV and sent a new one immediatly. I would highly recommend Old Air Products A/C Systems

I had used Hot Rod Air a few years ago and they were very good on delivery. This summer though, they seemed to be backordered longer than normal. After 3 months I cancelled the order and went with Vintage Air.

I'm guessing Hot Rod Air sub contracts out some of their parts and their own suppliers are holding them up. I suppose this might be one of the effects of our bad economy.

Vintage air had everything in stock and didn't seem to cost that much more.

I installed an Hot Rod air in a friends 32 last year. Had some wiring issues but talked to them on the phone and resolved them. Hope you get this cleared up. I prefer Vintage Air never had a problem with them.
