I believe you saw Doug Rose and the Green Mamba. He was there ALOT. He was handicapped and had a wheelchair. Also had a very nice looking wife. You will notice the eyes on the front fairing of that jet dragster. That was the green Mamba not the Green Monster of Art Arfons.

Does anyone know of a maroon 1965 chevelle malibu ss from the sixties named FUJIMO? My dad used to race it around Harlingen, Combes and Houston Texas from 1965-1968. I am looking for any info or pics I can get? His name is Harry Sizemore.

These are great photos, thanks for posting them!

They remind us that Texas had some really great cars in the '50s, and a bunch of them are there. Singer and Miller had the front-mounted blown Lincoln-powered dragster, which won the '59 NHRA nationals, also Buck & Bohls (as someone noted), Langley, Eddie Hill, and lots of others. I think that the channeled Plymouth coupe later got a paint job, and won its cl*** at the Nationals.

  5. First time out to HIS was in 69 and shortly after that, I was racing my slow streeter. Lots of great times out there.....
