I don't watch it too much, After the Starliner(Scarliner) they stuffed a GT40 engine in that was enough.

Project X was arguably the most popular project car ever. What they built it into is an abomination. High end, top notch workmanship for sure but it would be difficult to make the car any more wrong. At one point in the show I remember one of the engineers saying something like "we gave it what every hot rodder wants, a corvette suspension". I think not. In fact, I can't think of anyone I know dreaming of the day when they can *******ize a corvette suspension into their car. I followed the build of this car for many, many years and to see this done to it was sickening. If gm & phr felt they needed to build something to feature all the latest **** that will be out of style by next year to please the gold chainers they should've started with a pile of **** out of a junkyard.

My 57 has the 60's look, Cragar S/S, Muncie 4/sp, 283, no front bumper. I hate those 17" rims and low profile tires on any tri-five. But I don't see any reason to get upset about X. Isn't it what it has always been... just a platform for sales and marketing? They'd put skateboard wheels on it if they thought it would sell something.

dry lakes wheel man<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_4584839", true); </SCRIPT> you asked...When is the last time Hot Rod magazine did an article on a bucks down racer build????

This month they did a story on Littleman P/U........Pretty cool !

As far as project x goes,

the best thing they did on that car build was to move the hood latch from the middle of the underside of the hood to the outside edge so you would stop drilling yourself in the top of your skull every time your raised up !

****, I do it all the time ,and DAMN it hurts.........<!-- / message -->

P.S. your post makes you sound like kind of a ****head

Perhaps, but I can at least write humorous satire without being vulgar, you FNG.

You ought to hang around quitely for a while and get to know some of the folks who post before calling people names.

    AMEN to that.

  11. Even though punkroder is a FNG, He joined on the HAMB BEFORE you did. SOOOOOOOOOOO... I guess that would make you more of a FNG than him! If you are going to make a BIG deal of him being a FNG, then this is all kind of ironic, huh? Oh, if you dont like 57 Chevies, then you probably detest 32 Fords also. Maybe a Saab or Volvo is more your speed?

Why would they?? The point of that project must totally escape some of you. Ya' know how some of you guys say. "**** what everybody else thinks. It's your car. Build it like you want." Well, they did just that. Get over it. Project X has always been a platform to promote advertiser's products because advertising is what keeps them in business. That hasn't changed. The latest iteration is just a re-do to interest rodders in the latest parts. Do I like it. NO. But there's are hot rodders that don't think that you have to live in the past to have a nice car, and they spend a lot of money on new parts.

This is a Traditional Hot Rod site, thats why no one likes it. No one would like our style on the gold chainer site either.

True but as mentioned a couple of guys, It's their car and they can do as they damned well please with it.

By the way the car belongs to "Popular Hot Rodding not Hot Rod magazine and always has.

******* and moaning about the different evolutions and forms that the car has taken has been going on ever since it got it's second engine swap after they first built it. I've followed the car from the beginning and it has always evolved as times and trends have gone on and as some guys said they liked one or the other style better than the others.

It also had a lot of scabs from previous changes to the ch***is where pieces had been welded on, cut off an what not but I imagine that there are those that think that it should still have every bubble gum weld and scab from brackets being cut off in the past to mark it's "history".

We may or may not like what they did to it but the work is first cl*** and the car as it sits will hold it's own out on the road with most anything you want to throw at it. And if you stick it in a line of 50 1957 Chevys at a rod trot it is just one of a bunch of 57 Chevys and most likely will be sitting next to a clone of one of it's former forms that is probably done better than the real thing was to begin with back when.
