Some people love them and others don't. Should I buy a Lion Speed head or not? Who do you believe? Anyone out there with experience good or bad?

Dont own one personaly but everyone I talk to doesnt have anything good to say about them. I guess it depends what you are doing with the motor. Mild street motor stock cam, it should be a decent head. Full race motor...look some place different. Just my 2 cents.
That just about sums up the opinions I've heard/read too. Okay for a mild engine, but not particularly popular on quicker engines.
I have one but I haven't installed it yet. My motor will be fairly stock- weber carb and newer exhaust manifold, but thats it.
If you are looking for a head try looking at the Thomas, or the Winfield repop. Both heads would be good for a pretty decent street motor straight out of the box. Will need some work for a race motor. The Thomas head is really easy to come by where as you will have a hard time finding a repop Winfield. The Winfield is much cheaper though if you can locate one. You could also look at the Donavan head, havent heard much about it but i know they make one.
I have one on my touring car and I like It. I have maybe 17,000 miles on it. It is a good street motor head. The early ones were not machined well and had some gasket issues; the new ones have a machined combustion chamber and should match the gasket. Ask the guy who is really running one!
I have one on my B motor with dual spark plugs per cylinder and a datsun distributor. Its being put into a Model A woody roadster pickup with a 5 speed ****** and a quickchange. I had to recut the combustion chamber area because it is one of the early repop heads and as said above they were not accurate to the gasket. I'am looking forward to running it this comming spring.
i think there ok, had one and liked it but there is better things to spend your money on, distributor being num 1, most bang for buck as they say.
My buddy has had one on roadster for years. I ran it at the Auburn hillclimb this year and I thought it ran great got a 10.54 in the 1/10th with poor shifting on behalf.. it's just a stock crank, .030 over, Winfield cam, 2 97's (I think a little too much fuel) but I got one for my gow job and will try to remember to post more about it when I get some more personal experience
