    Hi
    New guy here...
We have a 300' drag strip at our local NASCAR track in La Crosse. Some of my friends here would like to build or buy a very cool and fast race car. I have not done any drag racing in a very long time and I'm behind the curve - Buy or Build...
    I'm looking for advice?

    Redfly,

I have a few leads that might help on your 300 footer. That track has become super popular for the Friday night drags. Gotta get out of the hole fast and then slam on your brakes! I'm working on an asphalt buckler just to take there for fun, there are guys running some pretty heavy hitters, big strokers and several shots of nitrous. The trick is to make the corner!

Stop by and check out our custom shop for machining and hot rod needs, we'll fix you up with something.

    Welcome to the HAMB!

I'll see if I can dig something up, but don't blink the race will be over!

I'm working on finding and building a more vintage platform, Gasser style, 40's Plymouth or Dodge business coupe, vintage Hemi, something that will launch like a witch and will give everyone a good spanking.

    Hi Bob
Milwaukee is 3 1/2 hours form here. So Union Grove is about 4 to 5 hours away.
I grow up on the Chi Town Hustler Funny Car.
I'm not sure if I can do this but here's a link to a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEY20KZO7pg

    Redfly,

Thanks for sharing the drag clip, and the vintage race pics. Check out that car, it has duals on the back of it, just turning them into black crayons! Pretty sweet Audi your racing there, hope you find the drag brawler your looking for, there's a lot of great guys and gals here that can help you find what your looking for that have tons of wisdom and experience.
