Will the hood & grille from a 1958 Ford F800/F600 fit on an F100? I have found a good donor truck for my F100 but it's an F800. The hood & grille will be the only items I will use off of it. Thanks, KK
Not sure about '58 but I know that with 48 - 50, the only diffrence in F1 and F8 is the fender openings. May be this helps.
I think the hood is the same, a 600 fender has more wheel opening. Fenders from an 800 are wider, grilles are the same. Where is the 800?,,,I'm in VA.
I'm in NC but the truck is a little further down south. If you need their contact info for parts let me know. the truck is complete for now, until they take the grille off. it's an old fire truck.
Here is a page from my Ford Truck Chronicle book. Looks to me that the hood, grille, and even the cab are the same all F-Series, the fenders are different. Ford made the C-Series starting in 1957 that is a COE using a different (tilt) cab design.
does it have the three lights in the splash pan - I beleive those three holes are for air flow reasons and not lights.
The hood matches the cowl-which matches the cab-which is the same on all the conventionals from F-100 thru F-1100. All the extra size was in the fenders.
This one does not have lights, but does have the three holes in the pan. If anyone needs parts off this truck, PM me and I will p*** the contact info to you. Most of the parts look clean from the pictures, and the guy is good to deal with.
X2. Cab, Hood, Grill, are all the same on the big trucks and the 1/2 tons. I have a hood and grill off of the big truck on my f100.
