    All right.

    Kicking project ideas around.

Anybody have any pictures or thoughts about stuffing a big
block Chevy between the rails ??

Would like to keep it all inside and under the hood.

    Thanks in advance,

Use just the hood top. It solves a lot of heat and clearance issues with a big-block in an early '30s rod.

Wondering if any of the block hugging headers would help the clearance issue.

    Weight wise, how will it, being nose heavy, affect the <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDo***ent> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:punctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:DontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDo***ent> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]-->drivablitiy ??

It's a '32 Chevy, a little too shiny for me, but Big block Chevy none the less, and seems to fit nice.:D

Not sure how it will handle yet. I set the motor back a little, re-did the firewall (it will run a full rootlieb hood) I may end up running aluminum heads which should bring the weight down. I will run full length headers (sanderson or home grown)

good luck on your build...but you'll find that a bbc in that 32 ,will make running a hood a nightmare, clearance wise and heat wise. been there ,done that, got the tshirt.
you'll find there are a lot better choices for the car you are building if you are set on running a full hood. have a fun, learn as ya go..

    427 cubic inch / 435 HP Corvette engine and a Turbo 400.
Done back in the late 60's.

Notice the 25 vent hood ( for better cooling ).

Firewall cut ... engine setup about 2 and 1/2 inches more than the typical SBC :( Even with aluminum L-88 heads ... it was nose heavy. But it would lite the tires at will :D

BBC's were installed a good bit back in the late 60's and early 70's. I have seen quite a few 32's with the BBC. You lose a good bit of foot room and the engine/transmission seem to be highter in the ch***is than a SBC. That means a higher trans tunnel and hump in the floor :(

The same roadster now has a 400 plus Horsepower SBC ... and it is more than enough power without the h***les of a BBC ( in a 32/33/34 ).

    Just my opinion ...

Big block chevy. 427. 4 speed. 1 inch recessed firewall, allowed by the rules. Block hugger headers worked fine. Zoomies worked fine. Handled well at 180 mph. Could spin the tires when you wanted. Front end did not feel too bad but the car was not driven on the street and was not parallel parked. It did have a spin one time at about 130 on my kids rookie p***. He just wanted 4th gear real bad and hit some soft stuff and kept his foot in it. Would I do it again? I think I would, but an alum 427 small block sounds good. Lighter is better I suppose. The pull of the big block was very pleasant to say the least.

  13. Those ZZ430s that you have in both the roadster and the 3W produce 430 hp with only 350 c.i.. Other than the "WOW" factor, why would one go the BB route when you could get 430 hp and make it fit so well (even with A/C)?
