I keep coming up with Cragar speed parts lately. My 35 Ford needed a bellhousing to connect the MEL to a T10 and behold, I found a Cragar 601 to do the job. My ignition needed upgrading, and I found an NOS cragar electronic unit in my garage. Tonight I scored a cool Cragar 6x2 log manifold for olds rocket motors (that I totally don't even need). What all did these guys make besides wheels? Anybody got an old catalog or anything. It's all been quality stuff. Love to know what else is out there...
I've got a Cragar bellhousing adapter that goes from Buick 322 Nailhead to Ford T-85 style transmission (late '50s trans) -Brad
I'm pretty sure a buddy of mine has a Cragar 6 carb log manifold for his caddy.....or is it Edelbrock??!!
i have a cragar drag star intake on my nailhead in my 32 coupe, i also have a hemi six two cragar intake, i think they are neat! my bad, my memory is f------
I know of: --4x2 intake for 324 Olds --6-71 blower intake for 371 Olds --6-71 blower intake for 394 Olds --6-71 blower intake for early Pontiac --swing arm and snout for blowers
[ QUOTE ] Titus, the Drag Star intakes were made by Weiand. [/ QUOTE ] Bass didnt you just score a cataloge from David Gyman ?
OOOH! See? That's what I wanna see...catalog.... intakes, ditributors, bellhousings, wheels, ignitions, what else???
I've got an early '60's CRAGAR catalog around here somewhere, will post when I find it. CRAGAR started as an overhead valve conversion for Model A & B Forsd in the 1930's. Miller,Miller-Schofield,CRAGAR that is how it evolved, same head just changed the rocker cover logos & info.
Yep...a 1967 Counter catalog from "Custom Automotive Speed Specialties" in Dallas, and a 1952 Bell Auto Parts catalog. The 67 one is basically a binder with catalogs for pretty much everything you could buy in it from 1967, except for a few notables like Weiand and Offenhauser. It really only has wheels in it from Cragar, though. The '52 Bell catalog has EVERYTHING that was available in 1952. It does have some Cragar speed equipment in it.
I have seen a set of Disc front Brakes ( early Ford spindle, 5 X 5 1/2 boltpatern ) on Ebay once, that they listed as Cragar...
Along with the snout and idler I have 4/71 (same as 6/71)front and back plates. They made a couple different versions of back plates and mine is a smooth one. I have also seen blower carb adapters both single and dual but I have not run accros any for sale. I have also seen a blower pop off plate from Cragar
My dad told me when he bought the dropped axle for his model A in the 60's it was a cragar, it was painted in the center of the axle, but has long been painted over. So you can add axles to the list...
They also made some RARE parts for the 348/409: - Valve covers - Blower Intake - Distributor - Thermostat Housing - Blower
[ QUOTE ] thanks its taken alot to get it this far heres another pic for you [/ QUOTE ] Hey where about in Vancity are you?
I just bought a Crager engine adapter to use the earlier Flathead tranny on the later flathead engine. Don't ask me why.
That's the spirit willowbilly3! Kinda like me buyin a small block ford intake, and olds intake, and a small block chevy intake this week when my only motor, a Lincoln, is already finished. Why did the man climb the mountain?
[ QUOTE ] Why did the man climb the mountain? [/ QUOTE ] To talk to the GURU? From what I recall crager made about one of everything scoob. At the strip in the late '50s through '60s you saw crager stuff in about everyone's pit. Blower drives wheels bellhousings intakes you name it. I'm thinkin' its pretty rare stuff these days. But I don't get out much. I got a friend in Modestothat just scored a complete set of Crager Spun Aluminum wheels for a project. I'm thinkin' made sometime in the '70s. Not old skool by our standards but they are sure light.

Way cool. Stood there and stared at them for quit awhile. The Guru is at the top of the mountain?
Well, my W motor guru HAS a 409 4-71 Cragar Blower intake. We have been told it is one of 8 made. My boss has a 322 Nailhead 4-71 intake
april 2003 on ebay ,engine with the 4-71 blower crager dual point dizzy, crager valve covers ,those were one of a kind display times, all on the same engine i twas at 12,500 ,and i never looked at it again, ,goergeous engine, you want to know anything about 409's check with dick kast in fairmont, mn,
I just scored a Cragar dual point ignition pretty cheap for a small block ford. I figure if I can't sell that intake I got from Metalshapes (that my friend claimed he wanted but didn't have the balls to use), I might have to build a cool 289 for something.

I also just saw some old cragar steering wheels and several sets of headers. Any luck on posting some of that catalog? I'd love to know what else is out there. That 409 sounds awesome too. Wish we had pictures.
Speaking of blower manifolds, who made the ones for early Cad and for Y-block? I do know that Cragar made blower manifolds for early hemi's. Oh yes-- I completely forgot about wheels. Was that the same Cragar company? Seems like it would be. Cragar wheels I know of would be the S/S ones and the Super Tricks (spun aluminum, but two-piece bolt together's-- like cheesy Centerline auto-drags).
