I'm just guessing: looks like he's using a trans and a 4-wheel drive transfer case with a 4-wheel drive axle to spin the rear wheels? Wicked cool!

I think he pissed all over the box. That motor is a torque monster,and building them right can get them to rev up to 5K RPM.
