Oh, boy, another WIW? thread. Yippee. No pics, no other description...you want an appraisal with a two-sentence non-description...are you serious??? Whatever the buyer and seller agree to. This is the answer to ALL "WIW?" threads!.
I like chevys and all, but pictures of what you are asking about is the best way for a decent answer...John
I built on of these in 2000-01 for a customer. Here is what a finish car looks like. http://www.hotrodheaven.com/tech/32chev/32chev1.htm Just keep clicking next page, next page on the last page the thumbnails will take you to a larger picture. They make very nice rods. Sorry, not a rat rod, but will give you guys some ideas. The grill shell bars was made from strips of flat stainless. I made tooling to shape the bars in a "U" shape like the original.
I didnt take the pic, and to be honest, I really dont remember where I got it. I was looking through my saved pics, and there it was.
HOLY ****!! An original 32 Bowtie with the 283 and everything! Those are ****in rare man. 6 figures easy. 1 Figure out what it is 2 Figure out who owns it. 3 Figure out if it's for sale 4 Figure out whether or not you really want it 5 Figure out what it's worth to you 6 Figure that no matter what you pay, high or low, even free, you'll get more opinions than the dollars you pay. See? Like I said, 6 figures easy.
Bill, there are some jokesters on here. Seriously, you need to get more info, and some pics for a REAL estemant. Is it a car or truck? Here are some things to consider. What type of build do you you want? Stock parts for these are few and far between. They don't make reproduction parts for them like fords. Are you going to try to take it back to what it was in the 60's? if so, you should try to find the history of the build before you buy it. It's a rare car, and you will most likely be the only person with one at the shows. Because of the rarity, and lack of aftermarket parts, the demand is low, so the price is low. I've seen restored 'stock' 32 5 window for $8,500obo, and a stock 32 Ford goes 2-3 times that. Good luck
