I scored this little '49 Shoebox last week...tudor, original flathead, 3 speed, everything working (speedo, guages, lights and fans), original paint, interior in good shape, gl*** is perfect, 64,000 original do***ented miles! Whatta score...met some cool hot rodders too...see this post: HAMB
Great score on the Shoebox! Looks cool as-is or would make a sweet custom with very little work. Hell, the interior looks perfect. I read your story about "the find" in your other thread... very cool indeed. Enjoy the new ride. -murph
NICE score man. Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll be stylin' with it in no time. It looks as though it may have originaly been a 6 cyl. car as the radiator is on the forward side of the radiator support. not that it really matters, it's still cool. Billy
Shoebox72, I was told...still need to check...that is the original motor. I'm still a FNG but that's a aluminum shroud that the previous owner made for the car...is that what made you think it was originally a six?
Here's a couple more pictures I shot this morning...wide whites and spotlights make a big difference!
Shoeboxes rule I've got a sedan highway cruiser and a ragtop flatty. Two of the coolest cars I've ever owned.
That's beautiful! I'd drive it just like that, ok ok...maybe I'd lower it a couple inches. Good find!
[ QUOTE ] ok ok...maybe I'd lower it a couple inches. [/ QUOTE ] Jeez...only had it four days...she's comin down, don't worry. I got her for less than $3000...
Like I said...I'm still an FNG but I don't think that is the radiator support that he is looking at. There is a rubber seal and a aluminum shroud behind the radiator and what I THINK is the radiator support is actually in front of the radiator and not pictured. *not calling anyone wrong...just trying to figure this out*
I have a 51 club coupe with a 54 ford grill minus the bullet. Everyone thinks it's a 54 pontiac or chrysler product grill. I don't know how to post pictures though./ I'll get my kid to do it later.
