I have a pile of parts in the garage that I'm trying to turn back into a car, and I have a few questions. The snagged a 3x2 mani for the Edsel that uses small base Rochesters, and since I'm swapping heads and replacing the fuel system I'd like to toss it on. Rather than dropping the huge pile of cash on the full tripower setup, I was going to run 2 on a straight linkage and block off the center position. There's just other parts of the car that could use the money first. I got 3 core carbs with the manifold, one has a tag# of 7028008, another is 7023008. The other is missing the tag. All have idle p***ages in the bases, though 2 have the choke mechanisms removed. So are all small base carbs the same size? Do I just measure the venturis to double check? I'm guessing I'll need smaller power valves, do I just go down one size? For jetting, do I just find 2 with the same jets and throw 'em on to get started? Lastly, to run 2 electric chokes, can they all use the same signal as the temp gauge or do they need 1 (or 2?) additional senders? Thanks!
Look in the carb throat on the divider between the 2 venturis and it will have the size of the venturis in raised numbers.
