Next time your at the bank you might sweet talk one of the tellers out of their larger canvas money bags with a bad zipper. Take it home and a few s***ches and bag of sand later you've got a beater bag.
I made a bg out of some s**** vinyl a few years ago. I recently replaced it with one from (gasp) HF. It was inexpensive and will probably give me lead poisoning , but hey, you gotta die of something...
Just coincidentally, someone on a local (Aussie) forum posted this a little while ago... http://www.niftynotions.com.au/store/results2.asp?Cat=AUSTRALIANMADEPANELBEATERBAGS You've got to put your own sand/shot in it, but you wouldn't want to be freighting that across the pond anyway. LOL
I also got a spare one from HF. It's still in the bag so I can't tell you how good or bad it is. However it looks like the one I use that I paid 5 times for.
I made my own . Found a real leather purse in a yard sale and it was in the free pile . It is a big one to . Filled it with play sand & bought a mallet . RetroJim
I had a few extra welding jackets laying around so I cut some leather out of them and had the local boot repair man sew them together. Works like a champ, only cost a few bucks to have them sewn.
I guess im cheap but I use construction site sand bags, the heavy black nylon type. they take a hell of a beating and are cheap to replace.
hmm i bet i could make a hammer out of a piece of locust and ive got a couple of handles layin around and i think i can talk the wifey out of an old rawhide type purse she has... ill post some pics as it comes along!!
You can buy an inexpensive leather bag from harbor freight then see one of your hunting or trap shooting buddys that handles #6 lead shot. Mine works great!
make a stump its faster as you can shrink and stretch without changing to a different surface or without using a tucking fork. the price is right also, do a search on www.metalmeet.com for stumps , the rod doc did a real good tutorial. gary
