Checkout the article on the so called 49 Ford in the new R&C. I don't see one 49 part on that coupe! That car is a 1950! They call the trunk a 51 and that is BS too! It's a 50. 'bout time they start hiring people that know what they are looking at! [IMG]

Are you talking about the one built by Alloway? I didn't really read the article, or notice the **** up in listed years for parts, but that car is GORGEOUS, and I am not a fan of the newer styled stuff. But it is pretty. I am not sure if I like the '56 dash, though.

    It's not like they called it a '48 or a '52...geezus kryhst.

And the Alloway car, that was my fond farewell feature for CR...you got a gripe about that, throw it my way--and I'll throw it right back with a special surprise!!!

I believe the article states., " And if you wondered why Bill decided to call the car a `49 despite the confusing mixture of `50 Ford front turn signals and a `51 deck lid and dashboard, Bill says, The stack of old registration slips all say 1949, so it's a `49"

Yeah it really sounds like they don't know what they are talking about. Get out to the garage and do something and stop *****in'

This thread isn't about what year(s) the shoebox is made of or whether it's in RC or CR or if the writers know which years ran a internal or external trunk hinge.
It's bragging about getting the January 2005 magazine delivered to the door in Bum**** Montana at least a week to ten days before we see it in Long Beach, CA. which is less than an hour's drive from the building it's written in.
It's about the irony of the ****y distribution.
(Which the writers have no power over so don't blame them)

But I must say his doesn't really matter much any more, but it used to "back in the day"
when HOTROD and a few other mags would run cl***ified ads and by the time I got the issue and maybe called on a $350 Deuce it was "Aw, I sold that a week ago when the magazine came out!"

By the way. does the "detent type shifter" Rizz used in his modified (December issue, My latest "new issue") p*** NHRA tech for having a reverse lockout?
