i took my kid to see the movie the incredibles,an animated superhero flick for kids. I stay glued in my seat. A car freak did all the cars as '50's-'60's stuff.chopped top '55 buicks, dozens of '59 caddies,a dropped split window vette and plenty of others. the hero drove a yugo, then rode in a REALLy low early '60's lincoln. if you have a kid, take him and watch the cars.

Creative people work in all areas but all gravitate to similar cool things at times.

I think I read the last movie they are going to do with Disney is "Cars," and one could only hope it is going to be something we will love...Pixar is awsome.

That's funny...you went to the movie, but looked out for the cars! I do the same thing. We were gonna go see that soon, just because the wife and I love the Pixar films, but it's bumped up for next weekend now, if I can get her to buy [IMG]

Saw it last night, Good flick, not just for kids, and tons of cool cars... The people around us hated me by the end of it, cuz every time a car would come up Id get all exited and point it out to my girlfriend, making all kinds of noise... [IMG] -J.

I took my daughter and girlfriend... that movie is hilarious!
Thumbs up for sure... go see it:)

also the other day i put in the old movie Charlotte's web ( cartoon movie) and my daughter starts yelling " look dad.. hot rods!" every time they showed a scene with old cars in it from the 30's, it was pretty cool that she thought that those were hot rods, they were just stock model A's sedans, pick ups.. etc. I must be influencing her already because she's only 7 and she says when she get's older she wants a hotrod:)... that's KOOL!

I want to see it. My girlfriend says the neighbor's car in the movie has a '64 Galaxie across the street in it. [IMG]

I didn't notice the Galaxie in the neighbors drive but I saw one in the climatic (haha, climatic) battle at the end. Cool spy music and not even a hint of boy band rap soundtrack anywhere. Lots of late 50's early 60's ranch style homes and furniture too. Elastagirl, what a woman!

I do work at Pixar, and I love it. I've been on the Cars project for the past 3 years, and its been hard not to talk about it!! The best part has been the "research trips" to SEMA, Detroit Auto Show, etc.

The nice part about working here is that although not everybody on the CARS project is a true car geek, they still want to make everything accurate- You'll see it in the details- Even bias ply tires on older cars.

    Here's to Nov. 05!

Thanks for the Incredibles kudos too- It really is an amazing film.

It's funny because I started liking nostalgia style rods because they retained so many styling cues from the stock vehicles. Originally I hated hot rods because of how stupid T-buckets made my favorite car (at the time) look.

You work there? I'm ******* jealous. I got a buddy that went to the art school right across the street from Pixar. I'd kill to get the skills to work there. [IMG]

The Incredibles is awesome – loved the cars, houses, sets, story, sound, animation - EVERYTHING!! I didn’t get the Cars trailer; it didn’t look funny or cool, just kinda weird. Bugs on cars going down the road, a technically nice bunch of nascars and nice chrome on the Cars logo – what I’m I missing? Don’t get me wrong, I’m just as much of a Pixar fan as the next guy. When I saw the Incredibles trailer, I thought, “That’s looks awesome - gotta see it.” The Incredibles was way better than I imagined – I hope the same for Cars.

  28. Is it appropriate for a 4-year-old?? We would like to see it as all the others are great.

The Incredibles is the first Pixar movie I've seen. I'm not much on cartoons or comic books, so previous pixar movies never really appealed to me...

But, this movie had me in awe... The pantsloads at work who are Pixar nuts keep badmouthing the movie, but I think it's because they are elitist ****bags (not that I ever run into anyone like that on the internet [IMG]

Anyway, imdb.com has a bunch of losers badmouthing Cars after seeing only a TEASER..

Here's what I learned about cars: It's a movie about Owen wilson, the race car, who somehow gets lost and ends up on the ruins of route 66, and learns some lessons in life from cars of the past (like 1950's and 1960's cars)

If you pay attention to the race scene, there are no humans in the movie. The pit crew is automated vehicles. Every being in the grandstands are cars.

I got goosebumps watching it. Then when I read that the theme has to do with the modern day ruins of route 66, I had another reason to live to November 2005...

    - - -

As for the Incredibles, the mid century modern **** had me all giddy like Chistopher Lowell... I'm a **** like that though. You Hambers are typically hotrods first, style second.. I'm like the opposite of Marty McFly.. Someone sent me to the future from 1955, and I'm pissed off [IMG]
