So i was installing the drive line at the rear end and dropped my 7/16 wrench, went to snag it and the drive line comes loose and lands on my face, chipping my right side front tooth! Damn that hurt, and a fat lip too! Small chip but still ****s, now I gotta go see the dentist Monday... joy! But good ending to this day as I got the '49 on the ground and tested everything (twice).. then backed her out of the garage and drove down the street for the very first time in 9 YEARS! All the neighbors came out and cheered, that was very cool! One of them snapped some picks and I will post once they send em to me. So started out as a bummer day ended on a good note! ...
OOOOWWCH! I know that smarts. Congrats on the maiden voyage though, chopt49! The neighbors all came out and cheered?!! Cooool! It sure beats them coming after you with shovels like a neighbor of mine did years ago!!! HAHAHAHAHHA!!!! Anyway...happy for ya. - Rick
Ah yes the first drive........ got to go with a buddy on the seond or so drive lol today. No **** had the same experience with the neighbors hollering HELLYEAH and WHOOO as we "made a lap", my buddy said in his model T. Good job and obvious a real labor of love after 9 years PROPS.-Weeks
There is nothing like driving for the first time the car you created in your own garage with your own hands, busting knuckles ( or in your case)teeth .LOL. When your driving down the road in your pride and joy you will show everyone your big smile (minus a front tooth)Way to go!
