decided to keep the truck

I have been trying to sell the 51 with no luck. I have tried and had no one really interested. I have 2 other projects so I figured I had to many. The main thing that got me down on it is that the motor we put in had a cracked starter bolt hole and you couldn't keep a starter on it. I bought a 76 chevy van running for $300 to get the engine. Me and my dad have decided to swap the engine in stock and fix the brakes to make a driver. It will probaly never be show quailty but it should be goin in a few months

 

Did you try putting a helicoil in it?

 

there is a good size piece of the block missing. I also know nothing about the engine. I have drove the other one so I know what I have

I think I got around $230 for the van after I pulled the motor and ******. the motor is a smogger, it might make 200hp with headers but it will be plenty fast in that old truck

I got the old motor out of the truck yesterday. We wahed the vanmotor off stth car wash, when we got it in the shop we pulled the oilpan and the motor is a 4 bolt main and is clean as can be on the inside. Maybe it does only have 70000 miles on it.
