Hi guys, wondering if there are any fellow HAMBers in the area of ROY Wa that can give me a hand. I have found some artillery wheels for sale on the cl***ifieds here, but the seller wants them as pick-up only. There is a shipping place in California that can get them to me once they've been sent to them, what I need is a go between.

I will be more than happy to pay for your time to pick up the wheels for me and ship them out to Cali. (As well as the shipping costs of course!)

Any help with this would be grateful.

    Thanks,
    Noel

C'mon guys, there must be somebody close to this area that can help this guy out! No way I can do it as I'm in upstate NY...

  3. Details would help you out
    How many wheels?
What is the footprint of each wheel? (length - width - height - weight)
Are you talking rims or rims with tires mounted?
Pick up drop off zip codes?

Sorry, there are 4 17 x 3 inch rims only, no tires. The drop off zip code is
Long Beach, CA, 90813. The pick up zip code is 98580. The weight of the wheels im not sure about, but as they are steel, I must presume that they're not real light.
    Thanks again

Can anybody help please? I realise its probably going to be a PIA, but we can sort out payment before you pick them up so you know you're not going to be left without some form of compensation for your troubles. Please PM me if you can help.
    Thanks again

    commonut;
I have bought some things on eBay where the seller specified local pickup only, but when I talked to them and explained the situation many have changed their requirement. A detailed explaination explaining what you need done might be helpful.

I suggest you send a message to the seller, stating the following; “I wish to ease your concerns about shipping the wheels to me. I have arrangements with the shipper, so if you can just send them to the shipper in California, I'll take it from there. I will be happy to pay you for your time to take the wheels to the nearest GREYHOUND BUS STATION. Greyhound is easy to deal with. They will ship each wheel separate. Please take one wheel to the Greyhound station and get it weighed and get an estimate on how much that will cost. Then, let me know and I will put that amount, X 4, via Paypal, in advance, and any additional fee that you require for the trouble of delivering the wheels. They will accept the wheels, wrapped seperately, in a plastic trash bag, with a cross-strip of duct tape. Ship them to my shipper in Long Beach, CA, 90813”

Thanks nash, I know it usually helps, not in this situation though. The seller is adamant, to be picked up and paid for on the day in cash, or no sale. Has a few things for sale, and its the same reply to all interested parties.

I have an opinion that the number of bids is reduced proportionally to the increased number of artificial restrictions placed on a deal........... Seller loses, the only winner is the local high bidder, if there is one..............
