hers a few pics i snapped off. the first few are from the richard petty school. the model a truck was for sale and looked really good and the rpu was in the hamb parking. i would love to have the motor out of the charger and wouldnt mind havin the car either (minus the wheels) it was for sale....65,000 little out of my price range. the last one is self explanatory i think it was on the side of the train im not really sure why though
Ive gone every year when I lived in Florida but not since Ive been in NJ. I always liked it. Yeah there are alot of goofballs there, but hey the worst car show weekend is better than any one good day of work. Cruise, drink, sleep, repeat.
Not bad 3 1/2 hrs and over 5000 cars and 3 pieces of crap. Can not please every one . ( Member of Daytona Beach Streetrod )
i just got back...HAMB parking was great,SGP had a shit load of kool cars. there are shit boxes at Goodguy events too(sorry,Kirk).i dont give a shit where the show is and who is hosting it there are shit boxes at "every"car show. by the way, i saw alot of out of state tags on alot of the cars; ie.S.C-N.C-GA...
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt....prove me wrong and show me some pics. Maybe I went on the wrong day? If so, my mistake.
I, too, thought the swap meet was a little weak compared to previous years. On the other hand, where else can you see so much of such "variety"? BTW, Randy, the Bel Air lot was 6 rows deep with cars Thursday night. Also, don't run I95 - 601&301 are wide open and virtually traffic-less, ran 60 - 75mph most of the way. Put 1150 miles on the car formerly known as Luke without as much as a hiccup (well, a bit of hiccupping on some bad 93 octane...) vic
A buddy and I were vendors in the yellow field. Gave some deals, people watched, and looked at thousands of rods. A lot of them were street rods, but I don't fault a man for having more bucks than me. Great food vendors and had the pleasure of selling a manifold to Big Daddy hisself !!!! There maybe better shows but it was great and great weather 95% of the time.
hatch Worked every day so far on the gate ,so did not have free time for pic's . But do you one better pm me your address and i'll mail you a dvd in Jan. when we get our copys .
COOL ... with the Bel Air not shut down ... I would consider going down in the 3W ... to me ... it is one of the best parts of the Daytona deal. Glad the 40 did good ... In all the years I drove it ... it never left me on the road ... not once ... but those sixty-over Corvette pop up pistons do not like gas without good octane ... Last time or two the wife and I went down there in the 40 ... we took 321 to 301 ... neat old highways and way more scenic than I-95. Randy
Not bad 3 1/2 hrs and over 5000 cars and 3 pieces of crap. Can not please every one . "Raceratrod" Well said! Dont go to a strip club during the day shift and expect to see the best they have to offer! I was there since Tuesday , I walked much more than your measly 3.5 hours. I scored and I scored big. A way cool set of Ansen original aluminum wheels, an even cooler set of Americans complete with caps. The best deal of the entire show was spending time with friends from the Southern Grease Pit. Hell I got to meet Chevy Girl Rocks! Remember this Daytona is its flat , lots of walking but flat, unlike Carlisle, lots of walking and mountains to climb! Deals where there to be had, even on Sat afternoon when I found my Americans.
Used to make every Turkey Run back in the late '80s and the '90s. Last one was 2004, and I drove back with an unrestored '57 Chevrolet. Always some goofball stuff, but always worth a day spent roaming the raceway.
After seeing Greggs post with all the pics, I guess I have myself to blame....I came too early....didn't stay long enough, left too soon. It won't happen again. Next year I gotta do at least friday and saturday. My f'up for sure.....but I've never been known for my brain power....just my JFK good looks...yeah right
Hatch , I wasn't just busting stones about the dvd . Send me a pm and when we get our dvd's of the show i'll send you a copy . That way you can get a good idea of what the show is about. Even the people who brang the crap, it's what they have, and at least they were at the show having a good time with friends.
AW Come on. My ribs are still hurting from all the laughter caused by the prices in the car corral. Lets see. 3 days ago I was wearing shorts and a T shirt looking at old car parts and hot rods. what's not to like? It was the end of November and I had a ball. We went down Wed. and came back today. 95 was a piece of cake. The only tie up was on our own beltway 3 miles from home. Easiest trip ever! My glass is half full.
There are always a whole slew of all kinds of vendors with repro parts. Chevys, Mustang, Chevy trucks, Ford trucks, you name it, it's there. Nice thing is that many offer show specials and you take it home and save the shipping.
As I type this in the freezing north reminiscing of my day long surf session yesterday and the past 15 hours, 970 miles (one-way) of driving I can say it was 100% worth every second! I can appreciate a lot of different types of cars even if I don't like them. PLUS I got to see lots of fun HAMBers which is what really makes a show for me. I'm looking forward to next year!
Vicki and I arrived home, without incident, yesterday about 6 pm. We had a great time. THANKS GREG!!! There were a few hiccups, but whan is anything trouble free. Traffic down was a nightmare. We know not to try that again, but staying Sunday and driving back yesterday took the worry out of the drive home. We had a great time with some old and new friends. It was good to see everyone!
I did good at my swap spot,i even dragged out my anglia gasser to see if i can hook a fish with deep pockets, and scored today buying parts i was looking (and not looking) for,but it did seem to be a little smaller this year compared to the past 12 years,,,
Had a pretty good time...have to take it for what it is...its not a pre64 show as much as I think we all wish it was.
Went on Saturday and I enjoyed every minute of it. Yeah there are to many cars 73' and newer that should not be allowed in but hey...it is what it is.
i went saturday with my son and grandaughter,i had a great time.it beat sitting at home watching tv.i guess it's what you make of it.
Went saturday for my first time, was a little disappointed, after all i heard about it. Went with $2000 in cash, spent $8 on pulled pork sandwhich. saw 1 flathead motor complete, Brooksville roadster brought the bare minimum... too bad i wasnt restoring a IROC Z28. But a cool day never the less...(shurg)
Target practice......and no coffee. Steady pull on the trigger and it's DONE!!!!! (oops, my misunderstanding....or did I??) Kinda cracks me up...just stopped in to look around and what pops up??? Turkey stuff!!! I went on saturday....walked for a few hours. Couldn't find any good bike scrap calling my name.
it was my first time too ,I though it was very good ,there were some good deals to be had ,but its what you make off it.can't we all get along!
