Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...you would really have to be in love with that Chevy to part with a later model reliable truck. Not sure how many old Chevys that there are in your neck of the woods but there are a ton of them here and for not much $$$.

Nice truck, but I think it might have to much rust. I got a truck with rust one time and didn't realize the extent till I really got into it.

  5. Sell your truck outright and try to find exactly the truck or car that you really want...it's hard to beat proven daily transportation

    I don't think I would.

You have a more reliable, newer truck.

That Chevy truck looks pretty rusty. Down in Texas you're not going to be hard-pressed to find an old truck that's rust-free and cheap.

I'd hold on to what you got.

No way. I think your Ford is worth at least twice what the Chevy is.

I would p***. Even though I would rather have the 63, it does look pretty rough. But then, yours has high miles and a salvage ***le.........Question is, what do you think? You are the only one who can compare the two.

That body style is notorious for rust. I say NO.

    I wouldn't do it.

If you are really considering it the first thing I would do is try to establish a realistic value for both vehicles. Then all you have to do is see if they are comparable.

I live in the heart of the 'rust-belt' and that Chevy looks pretty crusty to me. If I were in Texas I'd expect to find something a lot cleaner than that truck.

    I'd keep looking.

Don't do it man... there's gotta be at least twice the amount of rust hiding than what you see on the outside. My brother's '60 Apache 10 looks cleaner than that truck from the outside... then you look up at the cab and all it would take is a stiff fart to separate it's rusty *** from the rest of the truck...

I've sandblasted plenty of that body style... they're the rustiest trucks i've seen...

Good luck, and be smart whatever you do.

With that much rust "showing", count on every panel needing replacement, or at the very least, repair. I wouldn't do it. Been there.

    ARE YOU HIGH?????????????????
I'd look around and drive the driver to go get one and haul it home. If you need a truck project go 200 miles north theyre all over.
    Heck,son, Texas IS truck country

  24. You can always sell those Fords, I've seen some with almost 300K bring what I thought was stupid money at the state fleet auctions - and up here where they've been run in the salt at that.

If he'll throw in $500 it's probably a fair deal, though. If that truck's a rot box some of these guys would **** themselves looking at trucks people here have fixed up and driven. It never ceases to amaze me how a little burned off paint has supposed car guys jumping up on chairs screaming like the lady in the Tom & Jerry cartoons when she sees the mouse.

Oh man. Theres more work in that than there is worth. The truck is a 350.00 max. Winter time killer. lookie C/L and see whats out there. really the overwhelming consensus is keep watchya got. I had a 66 ant theyre great trucks, but not worth a straight trade.
