Sorry that I lost my faith in the car culture there for a minute. It becomes annoying to fend off Poison bashers all the time. On one hand, I get the folks who are all about it and then I also get the bashers who just hate me because of what they think I am supposed to stand for. We have been able to tour large venues again since 1999 every summer, so I'm happy.

Look, I'm proud of Poison then and now. We were more punk than most of any new so-called punk band that is around today because we had the balls to to be "out there" with our look. We started on an Indie label and worked our way up the ladder. It was too bad that Poison got ripped off by cheesy bands who half stole our look and then we got dragged into the whole hair band pile of shit at the end of day. But, we are still around and most of them aren't. Now we have the Darkness, etc. It's all a big cycle. What the fuck ever! Enough of that crap! Onward!

Here's a bit about my gearhead fanaticism:

My current line up is a '71 Nova and a '70 El Camino. My bikes are, '74 Norton Commando, '68 Triumph Bonnie and a new Triumph Thuxton. '73 Vespa Rally 180 and an '80 Vespa 125 bored out. A '71 Honda 90 and a '74 Honda MR50. I drive everything. No trailer queens!

Just did a 4 barrel upgrade on the Nova. (Manifold and carb.) Was a 2 stock. Runs awesome now!

Yep, my hobby is pinstriping and airbrush work. Mainly pinstriping, though. I was taught by Uncle Bob Spina who learned from Dutch and Roth. Bob worked for Roth for 15 plus years. My girlfriend is the fine artist and I am the lowbrow one.

I fuck with Brit bikes more than anything. I'm with the Brit Iron Rebels and the Ton Up Club.

In spite of getting off on the wrong foot, most of you all seem pretty fuckin' cool to me!

BTW: Yes, I did use accepted incorrectly.

    Rikki

  5. Thats cool man, lots of us Brit bikers here too. Takes some balls to come back and post an intro correctly. Lots of guys could learn from your example.

Working on a 1957 T110 AS and turning it into a clubman racer type. Just fabbed the rear sets and bars from scratch. When I'm truly done and happy with it I will post some pictures of the work. [IMG]

If nobody else has said it, let me be the first to admit driving my car everywhere and nowhere every weekend night until 2am with the windows down, racing, getting pulled over, and being ignored by girls with Poison, Motley Crue, GnR, Slaughter, LA Guns and all the rest playing as loud as my Pioneer stereo/cassette player would go, with a pair of crappy 6x9s mounted in the back of what was my Grandma's '72 Buick Centurion. 18ft, 3-inches long, big chrome factory wheels, and a 455 under the hood! Donuts on bone-dry pavent with Your Daddy Don't Rock blasting.
    Thanks for the memories!

haha, thats funny shit... RIKKI ROCKET.

im old enough to remember the music... some of my good friends wore big hair and sported POISON shirts, good times.

just an observation. the glam *look*, as it were, is identical to the Death Rock fad in the early 80s which is just a spin off of the punk fad.... all this music stuff is relative, but it could be said that it got out of hand in the mid 80s [IMG]

    welcome aboard!

I missed the first post, but I know Rikki, and he's cooler than half of those rockasilly idiots out there. I have to say, he doesn't come off like a hotshot, and he's into what he's into. I've seen some of his pinstriping too, and it's not half bad.

  17. Welcome, Rikki

I've pushed my share of brit tin. Its a sickness. Lucas, the doctor of darkness. Took my test on a 50's BSA military single, hell they should have passed me just for showing up in rainy Seattle traffic on that pile. My wife still complains about the only TT club ride she ever went on. Cheap clutch cable left me stomping my '79 750 bonni special into first from a dead stop with her on the back. Last I heard the bike was still on display at the HD dealer in Fife, 5 speed was clearanced a bit.

I was pretty anti metal back in the day, but here's the deal. I don't really care what your "day job" is. You're into cars and Brit bikes and so am I.

Plus, it takes balls to come here and post after some of the dorks were bashing on you and you band.

Welcome to the HAMB and howdy from Texas.

Dude, I missed whatever went down. I can't bash ya cuz I had major mullet in the 80's. I played all sorts of music back then in high school, but never made it. I'm just glad all the spandex pics of me are gone. [IMG] Ya won't see me much around, I have a life that is overtaking me, too much happening. But stick around and stick it to 'um. [IMG] And yes, I still have my record collection, can you sign them. [IMG] Anyway, here is a embarrasing pic to make people laugh at me. [IMG]
