Making that swap would be kinda like killing a unicorn.

Well, stuff and mount that unicorn then because it's just a 'vette. What's it take to go auto? Flexplate, transmission, crossmember, driveshaft, linkage, shifter, maybe speedo adapter, that's all off the top of my head.

Obviously I don't care about the car, but for the money why not get an automatic equipped car to start with? Seems like that would be easier and cheaper.

Tell her she needs to consider getting a better car than a Corvette. If it were me, that is what I would tell my wife if she asked.

MrTexas - The '63 Vette is a good choice for your wife. I agree with others here that it's your money and you can do what you want. I have a '71 Vette with an auto and it's a good ride and no shifting. I would look for s '63 Vette with an auto in it already there out there. There are a ton of Vette's for sale you'll find the right for the lady. Good luck in your search. :D

  12. General Motors made a manually shifted 2 speed automatic in the late 60's, now that would be the best of both worlds.:D

  13. im big on cutting stuff up, but its a matching numbers car and for the price id be looking for an auto one.

  14. Now if it was an auto car, I would find all the correct parts to stick it but go the other way? **** man she wants a hot rod but dont want to drive a hot rod? Buy a god damn mazda and tell her its a Corvette and buy the car for yourself. But by the ***tle of your thread she dont want a hot rod any way so buy the mazda.

The HAMB is a site for Traditional Hot Rods and Traditional Customs.

Not so much for bone stock production cars, with a modern overdrive automatic as their only modification.

There must be other websites out there that can cater to that...
