Hambers - 1. What painting method do you think was use to get this end result? 2. Is this semi gloss clear over primer or a semi gloss one stage paint? This '54 Chevy is may all time favorite Chevy with a great chop, cool stance and a *****ing paint job. I was told the car was build in San Jose, Ca. The photo is from the 2007 Paso show last of the cool times. Thanks guys CRUISER
It looks to me like a real basecoat, with a pearl. Then a clearcoat with some(not alot) of flattner. I will agree its beautiful.
WATCHA. Why do I want to say Rod Powell painted that? He's on here. Juan (Deadender60) will know for sure. Killer ride no doubt.
Looks to me like a flattened downed single stage. You can take a rag with some thinner on it and hold it on a spot that isnt seen, like the bottom of the rocker. If after about 20 seconds it shows the color of the car, its probably a single stage enamel. If it doesnt, its cleared.
i miss that car too! i know rod only did the roof , but i'm sure he can tell ya what to do he is da man ..........
i think i just creamed my pants lookin at that car. i'm a ****er for a 54. i want that for christmas.
tough to tell from that pic, but im gonna say its got clear on it as its got lace. either its gloss clear not rubbed, or a little bit of flatner and really snotted on looks good though, however it was done skull p.s. red gold toner over a silver or gold base will get ya that color, at least as it appears ion my computer
I like the slanted posts, if it is chopped how much? What is the back window from? Great looking '54!
