This is probably the least amount of car I have ever gotten, It's definitely the oldest. Cowl is a '30 and the back half is a [EDIT] labeled as 27 but is most likely a 30 - thanks HAMB'ers. The Bucket saga is coming to a close. I bought it, I built it, I finished it, I drove it - and now I'm bored. I did this with model cars as a kid, I was always more excited to build that I was to own, big cars are no exception they just cost more. The Bucket is going to be a donor, and most of the items will make it over to the A. I will be re-wiring, lots of welding and building an interior plus a few new parts. Don't worry, the body itself (along with a few other items) will live on in another project for a buddy of mine. Old site: http://bucketbuild.blogspot.com New site: http://modela.blogspot.com Finished bucket: New project: The work has already begun:
You've got a 30-31 Model A Tudor body there not a combination of late A and late T parts. Why did you think that?
Body was tagged '27 so I just went with it. So the back end is not a '27? I know the cowl is a 30. I didn't think any of the parts were from a T.
Definitely a 30-31 tudor body, 27 would have been model T... 28 was the first year for A's and even the back half of one of those would have looked funny mated to a 30-31 cowl. When I read the first paragraph, I thought "Man, that's gonna be goofy looking!" Nice Tudor!
Wait, are you saying there were no '27 Model A's? So then all of the Model A's built in 1927 were labeled as 1928's?
very late 27 could have been an AR model A..but that aint one my Tudor body is an AR body..note body line..and the difference in your body line..yours is a 30-31 body
Don;t worry, I am not the type to let things die. Trust me the Bucket will be back just with a different powertrain and such - and I will be more than involved in its rebirth. But I'm an ADD builder, my Lego's never saw what hit them most of the time and now my focus is on the A. The bucket being gl*** always bothered me and alot of the parts that were not finished as well as I could have. If I had a 10 car garage it would probably stay here, but I am excited to see what I can do with the A since I enjoyed the T build so much.
This is the other part that makes it all worthwhile to always be working out in the garage... Kids taking off the headers last night, they both love being out there. My son is infatuated with cars and everything about them. My daughter is a bit of a tomboy herself and likes swinging a wrench from time to time.
Yes there were no 1927 model A's, a 1927 Ford would be a model T. Model A's weren't manufactured until 1928. Cool that you're gettin your young ones into it early!
