Looking through Darryl Starbird's book and was wondering what ever happened to the Bat Car after he sold it to Ralph Garcia?
I think these pics should help. Here are a few more images of the car at the Starbird museum. We hit it on the way to the 2008 Hamb Drags. Neat place with tons of history.
That's my first shoebox, a '51 with six, it was a $300 car in 1984. I ran over my dad's fence learning how to use a clutch in that car! My dad traded it to Hines for a T body and a drop axle frontend. Then it became The Bat! Glad it went to good place-
Hahaha, that's a good story...I wonder how many other customs have gotten their start like that..."Well, I traded a 283 block and bellhousing for the old girl, and then got to choppin her up and here she is"...hahaha...
