lurked here a few years on buddys had tosay a couple a things not all his deal could be bad coz he'd be outa biz by now . but its the bad deals you shouldtake notic of.do you think the guys that arent happy are just making it up I dont think so. sum guys stand behind him . they are the lucky 1s they got the stuff. hamb poll said like 70% ok . don't now bout you . I wouldnt buy off egay if seller had 70% .I had to go to his place to get my stuff afew months ago,he seems to be a nice guy but I have uneasy feelings when a guy looks you in the eyes and lies to your face. but the con in con man is short for confidance. and he gets your confidance. like everybody he needs $and will tell you whatever it takes to get $ from you . this I know..have you notice he runs his shop out of a mail box and cell phone only. on a post not long ago somebody said it was a witch hunt . but "witches" got hunted down for things they didnt realy do . check the national BBB listing for last refuge 10 complaints all red close to each other money up front .fake tracking numbers .norb lies .no parts .half parts . one guy even paid for a folding top in 07 . norb showed me the tops they were devoloping afew months ago . one reason he delivers is trucking co need to be paid . .. the old I dropped the ball answer and we'l try harder next time . if your that bad at handling the ball get out of the sport and lets finish off with a question the guy from texas ( ithink) posted a while back he was getting a roller with a winters quick change to be delivered july ? how did that work out for ya . did you get it or are you getting the same BS ive just posted

wow that's ugly ,I shouldn't post after an alnight bash .. the basic message is that not all his deals could be bad as he wouldn't still be around , but it's the bad deals you should take notice of .Do you think that us guys who aren't happy are making it up ?? ,I don't think so !!!! The guys who stand behind him are the lucky ones who got their goods.. The recent hamb poll showed last refuge in the 70% range , would you by from an ebay seller that has a 70 % rating .he is a con man who looked me in the eyes and lied to me .the con in con man is for confidence , he is good at gaining your trust . A recent post said that some last refuge posts are like a witch hunt , but "witches" got hunted down for things they didn't realy do . Check the national BBB , it shows 10 complaints ,and all read the same ... money up front , fake tracking numbers ,norb lies , no parts , half parts etc .. The reason he delivers is that trucking co needs to be paid . Also vintage rods forum shows an unhappy customer . The old "I dropped the ball and I'll try harder next time" if you are so bad at handling the ball give up . and to finish off with a question , A guy posted from florida that he was getting a roller with a winters QC to be delivered in early july !! How did that work out ,did you get it yet or are you still getting the same BS excuses most of these posters have said they got

It's too late. I've already shipped a burning bag of poop to his front door. Maybe FedEx will lose it.

Hang in there Norby. Everybody knows that good things take time. For those that want their stuff yesterday, then you should have ordered it last year. Try to remember that when you order custom stuff, or order from a shop that does custom stuff, they don't jump on yours right away.

Be patient folks and plan waaaaaaay ahead. I started my underslung on paper 16 years ago and finally got the truck to do the build with 2 years ago. I started buying the parts I need (couldn't do that until I knew which truck I would have) and will likely finish it, if I'm lucky, before i die.

Then again, maybe even though some of you have all the stuff you need, including the time for your build, you'll die before you finish like my buddy did.

My hats off to Norby because he's talking with you. If he were a grifter type, he wouldn't do even that. You think any builder rushes through work to get to the next piece? If you do, I wouldn't want to ride in yer junk!

Oh Well folks, you win a few and lose a few, Norb sent me another PM stating he is drop shipping the stainless bed parts from Dennis Carpenter as soon "ASAP" (no firm date-I may not see this stuff until next year). I reminded him to be sure to include the stainless bolts to mount the stainless bed strips. If and when I ever get these parts I will make you all aware of receiving the shipment

But you seem to p*** by the fact that shipping and contents is now being done on his behalf by DC. Who will you be put out with if delayed?

I expect a dealer to maintain relationships with reliable partners. As a customer, I would hold my dealer accountable for the vendor doing the drop ship, but I would recognize them as a customer getting bad service along with me. If you don't want to deal with complications like this, you either have to deal only with the original source, or get out of this field. I buy from Riley Automotive routinely and I don't think I could tell the difference between what he ships and what he has dropped from others. I do know that may call would be to Riley and he would look out for me.

Norb, I expect to order those stake pockets from you in a few days. I appreciate your trials and tribulations, but at some point you will need to stop making excuses and learn to manage your problems. You get the benefit of the doubt from me and many others on the HAMB that want to support our business owners over some corporate chain. Treat it with respect.

If you feel like you were burned by Norb, I'm pretty sure you've said your piece. Let it go and take your money elsewhere. Everytime his name comes up, I see the same names trashing him over and over. Speaking for myself, I'm losing respect for those faster than a guy that owns up to his mistakes and keeps on trying. Do something constructive. It's a good way to live.

    Norb,

Sounds like your one good office manager away from happy customers. Doesn't sound you like that part and it would free you up to do the stuff you do do well and enjoy.

I have emailed Frenchy about the need for a customs agent, He either pretends to not understand or doesnt want to provide one. I have tried several ways to ship without one same dead end. Does anyone have experience shipping to France? Should have known better before taking order.

USPS was my initial choice but the bed was too big. We have been using Fed Ex but after 3 hours I gave up on the international website. I recieved some parts from England that were prepaid shipping, then a customs charge appeared on my credit card. How they got the info is still a mystery. It may have just went through my Fed Ex account. I think the international market is huge but it really isnt shipper friendly. Just have to keep trying.

you'll have to look for a freight company, that Norb sends the parts to, you pay them and they will send it all to you...

Im not sure how it works in france, but that's the way it would work in Germany or Austria
