been doing some pondering on the deck area, , , i've decided that what i had mocked up previously was a bit too "pointy" for the car, , , i think this flows a little better,,,,it's a 54 chevy hood, , ,still needs some adjustments, but i feel like this compliments the lines of the car a little better, , , ,after i get this figured out, it'll finally be time to weld everything up solid, , , ,the only other body mod i'm considering at this point, is possibly bringing the headlights in a little closer to the body, , , ,

  2. Yes, totally dig the shape in that last pic. Its hard to tell in the profile b/c the lid is black and stands out, but its come together nicely.
The only thing that i would consider changing and, i have said it in an earlier post, where the rear wheel cover meets the lower section under the bumper kinda pulls my eye in, it looks odd to the rest of the car only b/c its the lowest part. But i am just picking the fly shit out of the pepper now.

I cant wait to see the progress when your welding it up !!

Definitely better. Maybe if you could pull the lower portion of the nose of the chevy hood outward to match the angle of the fenders below the taillights?

I think the headlights look good sticking out there. If you pull them back, it will start to look stubby in the front again. This looks more futuristic concept looking.

Great going Kustom7777 , definitely adds more weight to the rear and gives a more balanced appearance .....
Me , I'd leave the headlights , I think they will come into their own once the front is more complete .....

This car of yours reminds me of Johnny Cash’s Cadillac song, One Piece at a Time.
    When you’re through….... It’ll be worth a hundred grand. I want one!

    Keep up the good work,

I like very much where you're going with this... been lurking since the beginning I think and congrats on the evolution and the maturity now showing of your creation. It's freaking unbelievable!!!

I also agree with your idea of taking the headlights closer to the body.

Now, I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty to photoshop a few lines...

Maybe it the lights reflecting at an odd angle but I felt like the line from the top of the front fender should swoop down a bit more to meet the start of the fin. I like alot the way you curved the end of it to meet the tail light!

Just suggestions here... Keep it up!!!

I agree, I think the back drops off way too flat, needs the slope to match the fenders. That top contour flows a lot better with this hood-trunk!

Maybe just split it vertically down the middle of the nose and pull them outward which will also make them curve a bit inward at the outer corners which may make a neato coved out area right before it meets the fins?
Then just fill in the center pie with a peak.

Only can agree.Much better. The good thing is the front fender edge and windshield frame are almost on the same angle and that ties things together.Much more flow now. Thanks for the update Jim !

Never noticed it before and it's kind of picky but there's a nasty lump right where the windscreen corner meets the door.

I really like the new rear section though. Are you going to keep the curve at the front (or is it the rear) of the Chevy hood?

i haven't cut the doors open yet,,,,,that bump will be taken care of then,,,on the chevy hood thing (decklid),,,,im still up in the air on that,,,ive been trying to figure out a way to make it open by building a set of hinges at the bottom and having the whole thing flip up,,,,,,kind of a "suicide" trunk, is the best way i can describe it, , ,
