So I was doing some research on here and thought it would be fun to not just list your clubs name, but what your about, how many / when / where were you started, any events you put on, where the name came from, and how big it is now. Since I'm starting the thread I guess We'll start.
Driven Dead C.C. Pre 64 Kustoms and Hot Rods Portland, OR / Salt Lake City, UT The Driven Dead was started in 2002 by some good ol' friends in a garage back in SLC, UT while working on a car together. It came up that we are all good friends that like gettin' dirty and bustin' knuckles. So we decided to start a club... since all of us were (and still are) poor, we have tended to get cars that don't run or drive, and build em up. Thus came the name Driven Dead, we take dead cars and drive them. Probably helps that we are all old horror movie nuts too In 2004 I (Drew) moved up to Portland, OR and after a few months of boredom, found some other guys that were into rodding. they decided that they wanted to form a club, I told them I was already in one back in SLC, so we asked the guys back home about starting a chapter up here. That's when everything became official... we came up with our logo, really solidified the club, and started small. So our plaques say est. 2005. We also decided that we wanted to be a club that doesn't just do things for us but gives back to the community. We started with 5 of us here, and 5 back home. Since then we have grown to 28 members all together. We host the "Rose City Round-Up" in June each year, as well as other charity drives throughout the year. You can check out the website to see our functions: http://www.drivendead.com Or for more info on the "rose city round-up": http://www.rosecityroundup.com
I am a founding member of the East Valley Demons here in Phoenix. We are brand new, born on Friday the 13th of November and Good Guys in Scottsdale was the first event we attended as a club. Right now we have a whopping 4 members including HAMB'ers: Invicta (Tom) and Rex at Lowbrau Lines (Rex) and another buddy. Hopefully we will find some like minded guys in the area to join us. We are all into the typical stuff for a car club. So if you are in the Phoenix area and would like to hang out, drop one of us a line.
Ignitors in McMinnville ,Or. Started with a bunch of gearheads at church and has grown sustantialy especially this year. Pre '74 american. Saw an old Ed Roth car that had an Ignitors logo from the 60's but have not been able to get any current info.
Knights we're out of shawnee okla. 40 plus members and family. we host the local car show in town, now in it's 25th year. we usually have 250-300 cars each year. we do alot for charity. club was founded 25 years ago in the parking lot of the Brown Derby drive inn. the oldest standing drive inn in town. we are getting up in age and are now mostly known as THE KNIGHTS OF THE SUPPER TABLE there are a few members on here as well we have weekly and monthly cruise ins at local eateries throughout the year and attend many events in the texas, oklahoma, kansas area.
2nd rule of Fight Club,Brad Pit is gay,and you have to fight him without a shirt on,like in a stupid Abercrombie store ad. Junkyard Hooligans C.C. I'm the founder, and we started back in '07 I think in Yucaipa at a local cruise night as a counter to the local $60-$100K street rods, rolling around in primer and dirt because we drove our cars every day and if it broke,we were hitching a ride the next day. Started out with two,got up to 11,now down to 3 in California(2 in So Cal,one in Central Cal)with 7 prospects in So Cal,one member temporarily in Mexico until 2011 and a member in Oklahoma. We're not about quan***y,we're about quality, and we're open to pre-70 vehicles (Customs, hot rods and traditional lowriders). The name came about because most of us were salvaging whatever we could use from local junkyards, and we're all a bunch of hooligans according to mainstream folks,
Coachman Car Club out of Joliet Ill. Formed at least 20 years ago. I've been a member for 6. 48 Members. We raise money througout the year through cars shows & such & give the money to charitys at the end of the year.
We were have had our ups and downs too... there was a minute when everyone except me and one other guy quit the club. We survived... funny thing is, two years later... a handful came back! Quality is the important part.
