.... But I had to see to make sure.

This was a quick mockup to see what it would look like.
(with some refinement it would look a lot better.)

But it changes the look of the car completely.

I think it needs to stay Fenderless... :)

    Too big and floppy.
    Might try some bicycle-like fenders.
    Fenderless would look good

It does look a bit british, doesn't it? Long...

    It needs to stay without.

I like the car, and the rear fenders, too, though maybe they are a bit too wide? I'm just thinking out loud about the fronts but they seem to flare out too far to the sides, beyond the tires and it looks awkward from the front. Maybe narrowed in widths with a bit more radius just aft of the wheel to sort of match the curve of the rears? Or front cycle fenders?

Not trying to be critical at all, just offering a perspective. I'll be interested to see what you decide.

That's why we mock stuff up, roll 'em out in the driveway and stand back! You're right, it looks wrong.

It doesn't look like a hot rod, but what it does look like is a coach built one off. How about mounting those fenders at the bottom of the frame, tucking them in where they belong and then standing back and taking a look? It'd be killer if they were mounted where they should be, like a scaled down Duesneburg or Auburn.

For a "hot rod" look, how 'bout cycle fenders front and rear tho?

    I LOVE the top!

EBay the fenders and get a hooker or something with the cash.

  13. I think fenderless- kinda looks like Cruella DeVille's car in 101 Dalmations with 'em, but that's why it's just a mock-up for now, makin' changes is half the fun!

I dig it with the fender, looks longer, and sleeker.
if you wanted to add a luxurious look to the car, that would do it.
    looks killer without also

I like it with and without fenders.Front fenders look to wide ,Slice and dice.If you use the front fenders consider a full hood.No fenders no hood. That's just my personal opinion . Enjoy

    I know.. It is.

I've tried a couple things as a mockup.

A piece of fairing off an airplane.
( trying to get ideas for a tracknose )

    Aluminum.jpg

    A hood.

But I need to quit messing with it.

I just need to blow it apart for Paint & Upholstry at some point....

That was really the only angle it looked good. :D :D

Some old prop plane, I believe.

  24. I'll go against the grain here & say that I like 'em....or, could like them, if they were considerably altered. From the side it reminds me vaguely of a Bentley (?) touring, maybe. I like the front side line. Low, black, sinister...as Fiddy says, Brit mobster-ish.

Problem is, by the time you cut them all down so they aren't cartoonish anymore, it may kill the look. FWIW, I like it fenderless very much, too.

The head on pic looks like dumbo the elephant. Maybe thin the fenders by 4-5" if thats your style. Personally i say no fenders...

  26. To make the fenders work the attitude of the car would need more forward rake and a ton of work. The last pictures look great but I would want to lower the top of the grille another inch or so - seems a bit high to me.
What a great car to be working on. No doubt you will make another special hot rod.

The profile/side pics look good, needs some massaging but a great start. From the front it needs help. The fenders are to wide and the front edge needs to be reshaped, maybe something more like a 36 ford fender. Lower the front edge toward the ground with a tight radius and a high crown on down the middle.

  28. I say some cool motorcycle style fenders that turn with the front wheels is the way to go if you need fenders. If not loose them. Cool car though...

  29. fenders might work with 20 inch wheels and alotta gold chains.............maybe some motorcycle fenders IF ya gotta have em.............then again why f**k with perfection
