A bar I used to go to was a police hang out. They had one of those on the back bar. They used to turn it on for atmosphere.

The light looks complete-the 3 long bolts go thru the roof and washers /nuts go on the bolts to hold the light to the roof. The only thing missing is the rubber gasket.

I've got one, Magnetic base. Came from an old Fire Truck. The magnetic base was not strong enough to keep her put on cop cars where speed and corners were involved. Many bit the dust on a high speed turns.

Worth a bit of cash in good condition. I put mine to use in the driveway every year at halloween. This year she did duty on a 49 Mercury 1/2 ton. Looked like an old service truck from the 50's. Gonna paint a 'phillips 66' on the doors and drive the wheels off it flashing light and all.

hey hot rod primer . guess we are old . my dad was a chief of police in a small town here in PA. (from about 1961-1969 till his death) and he always had MOPARS , this light looks very familier to me . same light as the last "borough" cop car that was fast , it was a 1966 beledere I with a 383 , 727 auto , 355 gears (those early 383 motors ran like a bitch) but i also remember the light . looks like the same light , also i rode with dad on a couple of those "too fast for conditions" stops , your fine $ seem about right , sure cost me a lot more once i got to do this "stupid" shit . thanks for the memories folks !!!! havin fun mopar210

I stared at it for more than five seconds. Was there a light in that pic or something?

Bingo, most likely mid to late 50's because it's still a 6 volt setup

They changed to 12 volt in the late 40s to the early 50s. I think that by 1955 they were all 12 volt. It would probably bring anywhere from $140 to $180. The Model 17s sell pretty well.
