Is the 1932 Ford Truck/Pickup windshield frame the same as a 1930/'31 Truck/Pickup? My new '32 project is missing one and I posted for one in the cl***ifieds and was told maybe they would? (Thanks HRP):)

What about the '30/'31 sedan/coupe frames? ...same as '30/'31 pickup?

I know the '32/'33/'34 pickup frames interchange, just hoping if the Model A ones fit, I'd have more chance finding one. Thanks. Larry

I was told they do, but can't confirm. The A's have a fin on the bottom that slides under the dash rail, which would need to be removed for the 32-34 pickup.

All A frames are the same basic dimensions, but the fin is different year-to-year and on fordors.

So, if one A frame fits the opening, they all should.

They are close but not the same.
I bought one thinking it was truck (32-4) and it was Model A.
You could make it work.....better to find the correct one.

    It was awhile ago...
going by memory, the little tabs for the windshield arms hit
I think you could move them and make it work,
    and remove the lip...

I sold it and bought a truck one that fit.

  6. my books show different pattern numbers
    28-31
    pattern # 463 .................... 43 11/16 X 14

    32-34
    pattern # 824 .................... 43 13/16 X 13 27/32

all ways cracks me up! I've seen some ford patterns down to 1/128
even if my tape went to 128 I couldn't hold that tolerence cutting gl*** 44 years ago when I started in the business with young eyes

Ok, so forget the Model A idea... I'm gonna keep looking for an original '32/'33/'34 truck windshied frame and hinge for my truck project. There are none on ebay or here in the cl***ifieds, so maybe someone here has a line on a NICE one for sale...hmmm? :)

    Larry,

I have a '30-31 Sedan frame in my '32 pickup cab. I cut the lip off the bottom, and swapped out the upper half of the hinge for the pickup one. The basic frame is the same and fits in the hole. I had no interference with the arm mounts on the sides.

It's hard to find one in good enough shape to chrome or that does not need repair. Speedway has them in aluminum, plain or polished.

Larry, when I was building my '34 pick up an "old guy" told me that I could expand my search for a windshield frame to any flavor of closed car Model A. I found a cherry '28 tudor w/s frame. I sat the replacement next to the rusted original. The only difference I could see was that the A frame had a lip that pointed inward and slipped just over the top of the dash when the w/s frame was in its closed position. I think it was an attempt at a wind seal. I trimmed it off with a zip cut and "Bob's yer Uncle", it looks just like Henry's OEM piece.
