If you don't already have an easy way to post your favorite pictures, the following is a good way to do so. Especially if you are not using a high-speed internet connection.

I have seen many attachments in posts and I ***ume people are uploading them to the forum because they don't have an alternative. When you upload a picture to a website for you to view, it is known as HOSTING. Anyways, here is a good way to get your pictures HOSTED so that you can use them over and over again without uploading the same picture everytime you want to add them to a post.

There is a great website that I use to HOST my pictures called Imageshack: http://www.imageshack.us/

You can upload as many pictures as you want for free as long as they are 1 megabyte or less. (1024kb) - after the pictures are uploaded, imageshack generates a web address (link) in HTML FORMAT that you can copy and then paste into emails or the forum or wherever you like. It is great. This is known as a HOTLINK. By using a HOTLINK, no one has to download anything; the link is viewed automatically as your picture.

Your pictures will stay on ImageShack's website for 1 year unless someone views the picture, then your picture's expiration day is pushed back another year from the day it was viewed.

When on image shack's website, you will be able to view all of the pictures you upload and generate HOTLINKS for any one of them that you wish to use.

Don't be intimidated by HTML. You don't have to understand it to use it. It is all spelled out very simply on ImageShack's website. For example, next to one of your pictures on the imageshack website, there will be a "one click" ****on for you to copy the HTML that you need in order for you to PASTE it into an email or the HAMB forum so that everyone else can see your pictures.

If you need help, PM me.

There are a lot of Websites that HOST your pictures for free. I mentioned Imageshack because I prefer it and can help you out if your trying to use it. - Just wanted to share it with you. I haven't been this excited over a free website since PAYPAL came out.

Yes. You can scroll through all the pictures and then select one that you wish to generate a HOTLINK for.

I looked for this. But was not given the option to identify my pic or pictures and collect them into an album with my name for later viewing. I am sure i am missing something but where is it?? Stupid PJ [IMG] [IMG]

PeteJoe, Across the top of the homepage, you will see a "MyImages" ****on. Click that one time and you will be able to scroll through your pictures.

I should also mention that anyone who is signing up for imageshack should note this: Keep the email that image shack sends you because it contains the registration link that you will need later on. Your internet browser memorizes that information each time you return to the website.

I use multiple computers so I copied that registration link and am using it on multiple computers.

Make a shortcut for your desktop by doing this:

Open up that Email that Image shack sent you. Follow the directions next to the black arrows and in white boxes. In step one, be sure to select COPY SHORTCUT and not COPY:

Once that information is copied, you can paste it into a new shortcut:

Be Sure to Hold the SHIFT key down while pressing the INSERT key to PASTE the Shortcut into the white box that contains the blinking cursor.

    Hope this helps

yup you got it... By using a clickable link like that, it makes the post easier to read.

If you use the one (URL) that starts with IMG=SOURCE , then the picture is shown automatically without people having to click on it.

When you preview your post, it will show up exactly as it will once you submit the post. If you see a link, others will see a link. If you see a picture, others will see a picture [IMG]

Cycle Jock, Your picture for the Avatar (profile picture) must meet certain criteria. You have to edit the photo so that it meets the requirements. I don't know the requirements off the top of my head.

  21. That imageshack is a big pile of **** too...

I can post pics.. works great... Then, one day later... Red X.

It says in the thumbnail that the pic is too small or whatever...

    I dunno but, 400 - 500 Kb.. Too small..???
