Hi all, I'm Tracy. Finally did it, bought a 1965 Rambler Ambassador of all things....but it was there and I was there and the moment was just right. My Dad has been gone for about four years now, but my entire life (and most of his) he had a hot rod in the garage. He would build them up from old burned frames or whatever he could get his hands on. My favorite was his 1936 Model A - probably because he let me drive it to school. Still amazes me he even let me out of the drive way with it! I will try and link a photo of the last one he was working on before he died, it's still sitting in his garage. Although I love his street rods and hot rods, I'm drawn to the early 60's sedans and convertibles....so, may I introduce to you Barcelona Rose.....my hope is that I can learn to do a lot on my car for myself. Last weekend a friend took out the starter, and we are going to attempt to get a new one in this weekend. Oh how I love the smell of gasoline...lol.
"Yah, hey dare!" greetings from Wisconsin!! (free/friendly advice: ya might want to ditch the term r@t r0d from your vocabulary 'round here!)
Welcome to the Hamb Rose, your Dad's model A is a keeper! What was the 1936 ride you spoke of? Any pictures maybe.
I'm one of the resident Rambler/AMC experts. Nice looking 65 (or 66) Ambassador there! I'm assuming it has the 327 V-8? I'm pretty sure the name comes from the paint color, correct? If you need any help with the car just holler!! I'm on the opposite coast, but know a few guys in CA (don't recall if close to Sacramento though) if you run into too much trouble.
Thanks you All! I can't tell you how excited I am to be here and start becoming part of the community....gosh I wish my dad were still here, he would get a kick out of this. My dad's 1936 was a pick-up and so rockin but it is probably the only one that I don't have a photo of...I'll check with mom and the siblings and see if I can round one up. All the other seven or eight that passed through the garage over the years I have been able to find pictures of...I'll get them scanned and share with you guys. Thanks so much, Tracy
