  3. Been there---Done that......I know how you feel.....I sold mine clear across the state (Pa.)....didn't want to be driveing down the road and seeing my old car going past with somebody else driving it.....On the bright side....you now have the time to start planning a new build.....good luck.....stan

The right decision isn't always the easy one... feelin' for you.

  6. Damn! I've done that more than once with tears in my eyes. Sounds kind of stupid, doesn't it? It's the truth though. You're doing the right thing with putting family first. Things will turn around financially. You can't keep a good man down. Best of luck to you.

Some of us older guys have been there more than once..

I sold mine in the 70s..cause I needed money to live. Built again..sold in the early eighties..as I built a home when the economy tanked and rates were 20%..

    Built again..the only car I kept..took 21 years to finish..kids..home..business..

The advantage of years is you have been through it before..you have solved every problem that came your way for many years..

    You'll do it again...

Have faith in yourself..work at it..it comes back...

    It's a long life..

I was balling my eyes out so bad the flatbed driver called the buyer and buyer said i could back out... lol... it just had to be sold for $$$... what can ya do. There will be other cars, other years and Obama will be out of office

  14. What can anybody say? You did what you felt was right. Guys like you don't survive---they flourish.
You'll come back with a bigger and better ride, and nobody can steal your memories of the old one.

I cleaned house in '01 when I lost the building I was renting for my business. Sold most all my coolest and most valuable stuff---cars, parts, memorabilia, toys, etc---cause I had have a place to make a living. Paid cash for my new place and never looked back. Now I've got twice as much, and it's better stuff. :)

With your attitude, you'll be fine. ;)

Hopefully you get another car soon. I've had to sell all mine. The image of my A coupe being driven off is burned in my mind permanently. When I sold my last car, as much as I wanted to look at it one last time, I did not. One image like that is enough.

I just loaded up my 53 and its on it's way to a HAMBER down in texas. Lil fella in my avatar needed a new place to live. Was a terrrible morning but there are a lot of sweeter projects to come. If you dont like it send it back Jeff! Hahaha

  28. I feel for you. I've done it so many times over the years but it was the right thing to do. The bright side is, when things look up a guy gets to start a new project.

I sold a really nice '62 Corvette about 20 years ago for a house down payment. The hard part was, the guy left it with me for another couple weeks while he arranged transportation and I couldn't drive it.

  29. nice falcon as a former owner they rate a 3 on the scale of "driving experience"! lots of cool stuff out there still and something will find you.

Sold my '60 F100 Monday - a disappointing experience. Tuesday at 3 am I'm in the emergency room and they're testing me to see if I'm having a heart attack. Thankfully that wasn't the case, but the perspective was invaluable. The truck did not, and does not, matter.

Lots of Falcons out there. Hope you can find another soon.
