I am very comfortable working with chevy. Prefer to put in a chevy Inline 250 for this though. Much easier for me to source parts. Besides, I like em.

The inlines to me are cooler than cookie cutter V8's. Tom

My comment wasnt directed towards you Ron so please dont take it that way... just thought those cars were gold chainer looking..The Plymouth on the first page with the yellow/tan rims used to belong to us..we had chrome solids on it before...it now belongs to my father in law..It is stock except a 12v conversion and the stance..the thing runs great..I would go lowered and stock...these 40's really look good in that cream yellow color by the way...I just think they look great left alone..keeps the character of the convert..but hey thats me..

    One minor point.
The 46-48 may be able to flip the radiator mount to allow the radiator to sit up front. I have seen and read this. However, I tried to do that with my 40 and it would not work. Do not count on being able to do this to gain radiator clearance.

On the bumper, I think it has a lot to do with stance. If you drop it in front, the lower edge is not as noticable. If you go with a custom rake (down in back), it highlights it.
To my eye, that is one of the areas that is a bit off. The lower edge would look a lot better if it did not rise to the outside so much. The rest of the front has lots of horizontal lines, and the lower edge is quite an angle.

  5. You could do it as work-in-progress with a chop and park with these two 40's at Bonneville...

    Good point on the stance.

Got some lowering uprights coming. Need headlight rings and the center grille chrome. Anyone?

For the parts, I'd suggest Francis Moore. He has always done me right. I put a wanted ad here for the hood trim that got lost during transport, and Skrambler here set me up. I can vouch for both of these sellers.

If I ever get around to the bodywork on my '40, I plan on leaving the center grille section lower edge as-is, but pulling the lower fender edge down. I will still run the bumper.

Like the idea of lowering the front fender front edge lips. Looked at those today to figure it out. Won't be hard. Tom
