Due to a car accident im down for several months. All I can do is stare at my 36 plymouth project and search the H.A.M.B. Help a brother out and tell me about your ride. If I cant work on mine at least I can read about yours and make the days p*** a little faster. Im in So. Cal and would love to hear about El Mirage dry lake bed back in the day. I only recently found the H.A.M.B. and this is by far the best HOT ROD site on the web.

Looks like you have a nice old coupe to start with! sorry to hear your down, hope your on the mend, and nothing thats going to hang on...... Health issues have put me down in the past and i know its OK for awhile, then gets real old!! several years,me the recliner and the tv remote. so the HAMB is far more intertaining than TV to me.
I have some old cars, 3 drivers, 4 project cars. I do most of the work myself. If i don't know how ,,, I some times do when i'm done. my cars are LOW BUCK... I have no interest in high tech rods/cars..altho some of my friends do...build them the way YOU want them

blue car(chubbie)1941 chevy I bought 42 years ago...its allways been a solid car, many people ask when i built it. I've been work'n on it as long as i've owned it ..never really built it..350 325 hp 4 speed auto..done old school
1930 model A, collected parts for years, till it looked like a car. its a 327 w/ 3 deuces and a 4 speed. really fun to drive!! were out of season now, cant wait till next spring!!

  3. Hit the search ****on and start reading, should keep you busy for a few years..............

    Welcome.

  4. Sorry to hear you are out of action, I hope recovery is going well. Been there myself and it does get old pretty quick.
Here's my current obsession. We've owned it for nine years, drove it for three, then it went on the backburner for five, now it's getting the treatment. It may be an odd choice for a mild custom but I have yet to see another one done that way so that's good enough reason for me.
My wife says she'll be the sober driver any time once it's done and thats a great offer, It is hers.
The roof is med gold holographic flake over cream, not laid on too thick, it will have a custom grille....drawer knobs? bullets? not sure yet. Interior will be done nice but trying for not the usual treatment...we'll see...
The whole idea is to do some custom touches but to be understated at the same time......

As it was...................................................and now. Get well soon.

Chopped51 is right, just start clicking the mouse, you'll never get through all the posts on this website. Watch out for carpal tunnel syndrome...mine hurts so bad after an hour or so I have to change the mouse over to my left hand for a while! If it makes you feel any better I've been working on a 36 Dodge pickup for 15 years, and God willing and the roof doesn't cave in I might actually be driving it next summer!

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

Here's my 63 Belair, front disc brakes, 250 straight six, HEI ignition, 3 on the tree, 3 carb Offy intake, 3 Weber Outlaw 38mm 2 barrel carbs, dual Langdon's cast iron exh manifolds, homemade exhaust, dual Smithys gl*** packs, peep mirror, and Moon eyes tach. She aint pretty, but she was cheap and is loads of fun. The only thing I'll do next is paint it the original Adobe Beige with wheels to match and leave off the hubcaps, then she'll be perfect.

my ride is a 1948 Plymouth 4 door. its been in the family since me and my mom bought it for my dad about 5-6 years ago. a few months after he got that and did a little work on it, he got a 1971 chevelle true ss so it went on the backburner until we moved from that house. when we moved it went to an outdoor storage yard with the 67 thunderbird that we also had. the thunderbird came out of storage a little while later and me and my friends worked on it a little and then we had to move again so that got sold. after that my parents kept getting calls from the storage place saying they needed to pay to store it or they would send it to the junk yard. since i dont like to hear about old cars going to s**** i begged my dad to go get it. to get it without having to pay past storage payments, we sneaked in the at night and put it on the trailer and left with it. now ive been working on it for about a year and a half or so and its starting to show good progress.

Since I also used to own a '36 Plymouth, I feel a kinship!:) Here's a link to a story about my current ride from The Rodder's Journal (although it's not about my Plymouth). Starts on page 104, I believe. Good luck with your recovery!
